Ok, so first and foremost...graphically and audio wise the game is outstanding. I am very impressed with it, just has a great look and feel to it. So from that stand point...it is a sure winner in the eyes of the public.

Now that said...I have some major/minor knocks on this game from what I saw in the demo. First game play, its the same as MGS2 & 3. Tried and true formula...not getting away from it which isnt a bad thing but more or less...its the same game we have played before.

Enemy AI - I find it funny that you can blow away the guy right behind someone and somehow they can't hear the body hit the floor and react to it.....or they fail to see the large human shaped thing that is colored like the floor or at minimum be on alert when they see the form as it is obviously not flush to the floor. I mean a 3 year old would notice Snake laying there even with the camo so how come the soilders don't?... instead they just walk right by. It's a very similar problem I have noticed with the Splinter Cell games and the previous MGS games. Enemy AI just isn't that smart in terms of noticing the obvious.

Second item on game play....the guy has 50 thousand gadgets and guns and hides them exactly where? Cause his suit is pretty much skin tight and only has a couple of pockets....I am still trying to figure out where the sniper rifle fits.

Lastly....he magically gets a can out of thin air to hide under...then sneaks out and rolls (ala bowling) through two guys with a decidedly metal sounding thud meaning the can is real and has real weight to it. He gets out of the can and POOF it just magically disappears? Hello? Why in the heck could they not keep the can on the ground, etc... Is it not an interactive enviornment? Therefore in order for him to interact with things they just pop in and out? I just found this item rather disturbingly disappointing.

I am sorry but little touches like that keep this game from being OMG great in my eyes to a wow its gonna be a good game. I know I will be flamed by the fanboys...but I have high expectations on this game...Visually and audio wise it is meeting those expectations and more! I just wasn't blown away by the actual game play. Its fluid and smooth and feels like MGS which is a good thing...just kinda expected to be blown away by the game play and I wasn't.

Anyone else agree?

It wasn't the graphics that were mind boggling, it was the gameplay. With so many features compared to most other games, I cannot think of a game that is so well developed gameplay wise. MGS series usually had stale, and boring gameplay, but this was significantly changed at least in the demo. I would actually think that the gameplay was the best part of the demo, and not the graphics. The ai was on easy aswell, if anyone pointed out a stun knife shouldnt kill on first blow.

Don't agree. It has great gameplay.

Your first point is killed basically because it was a stage demo. The 2nd point is basically gameplay vs realism. Practically no other game will be so realistic that'd it force out gameplay. It would just be too stupid.

You're nitpicking about the camo is a little ridiculous man. IT'S JUST A GAME. Ok, just read the rest of your nitpicking adventure there. It sounds like you don't realize this is a game or something. Oh, wait I know what it is. You're a lemming and you've made a completely ridiculous thread. No suprise there.

how many times must one explain this? the AI was seriously dumbed down for the purpose of the demo. kojima had to ensure that it would be presented the way he wanted it to. how can he show off the stealth features if he caught up in a firefight at the beggining of the demo? don't be so critical of early demo AI. you only need to play past MGS games to know that the AI is going to be great.

Okay, it sounds like you're mixing AI and gameplay with realism. Games are not realistic. Get over it. I believe the trailer had a cyborg ninja in a sword fight with a vampire. It seems you've forgotten that already.

AI and gameplay don't have to be realistic to be great, and I thought the gameplay in MGS4 was by far most impressive. The active camo is an amazing gameplay introduction. The statues, the barrel roll, the backwards grenade, background war, and MK2....this game will be excellent, no doubt about it. The gameplay will not disappoint if what I saw is any indication.

Umm, you're going to knock a game with vampires, cyborg ninjas, and walking tanks for not being realistic?
