Cows getting the shaft on reso. Must be painful. So much for the 50% powah boost.
The PS4 version was always at 1080p. How is that possibly "the shaft"?

@ladyblue: Nice try. 1080p on the Xbox ONE. The ONE is on fire! :)
Let's use some common sense. :P If it were 1080P it wouldn't need to state "final output" like in the ps4 chart.
B) The game's final output resolution will be 1080P after it's up-scaled from 900P
Either way it might be best for people emotionally invested(like you) to wait before throwing a parade. Otherwise risk another "you realize you see every xbox game in 1080P as your output" moment. :O
Best of luck! :3
Your logic is different than mine. Their language for upscaling is present on the X360 version. It simply states upscalled internally. Why wouldn't they use that same language for the Xbone?
My thoughts are that they are still working on tweaking their code, and are using the language "final output" as a CYA in case they are somehow unable to hit the target of 1080p. But it sounds like they are confident.
Well, here we go again with another asterisk for the Bone. This shit is nonsensical and people are celebrating?
Well Xbone is the factually weaker console.
One thing's for sure. For a bunch of people who insist on telling us resolution doesn't matter, they sure are smashing that fallacy today.
[UPDATE] The Phantom Pain's website has been updated with an English version of the resolution/frame rate chart, which confirms the "final" resolution for the Xbox One edition will be 1080p.
Just a correction. "Final output", not final resolution. :)
OutputBone.

You can correct GS's article all you want.

Right after you go back and edit every outrage post and thread about KillZone's claimed 1080p resolution.

That's point A in my post... which you conveniently left out for no reason. D:<
@chikenfriedriceDon't be hasty. Just going by the official link from konami themselves. I hope it gets to native 1080P. MGS5 should be enjoyed in the highest fidelity possible on consoles. :)
@ladyblue: lol......nice try buddy. 1080p resolution confirmed. The ONE is truly the comeback kid. :)
@xhawk27: I already got a 4k monitor and Xbone games look amazing at that resolution. Really puts a damper down on the PC crowd.
@Ant_17: Resolution is no longer an issue for the ONE. That combined with the cloud, the amazing tech, the amazing games and devices comes out, the ONE is on fire! There really is no Reason own a PS4. ;)

If i gave a damn about what you said , i still won't buy an Xbone.
The PS4 has what i want.
Whew, all kinds of fanboy stink up in this thread. It's nice to see that they've been able to improve performance on the Xbox One since Ground Zeroes. And here's hoping the PS4 version doesn't cause my PS4's fan to spool up to max like GZ did. I think I'll wait for this to come down to bargain prices though, have never been able to get too into Metal Gear. Wanted the NES version (Michael Biehn!) when I was young but once I finally got it I think I played it for a few hours and never touched it again. Got the first MGS for PS1 when I was in college.. same deal, got bored and went back to multiplayer Goldeneye. Maybe I've got ADHD, ut oh!
As an aside, this sort of amused me...
.. two "P's" in a pod, huh? ;)
Wait, is the Xbox One version 1080p or 900p?
Internal resolution is 900p. Scales to 1080p.
Last gen's internal resolution is unknown, but it scales to 720p.
@ShadowDeathX: I think the chart would've said scaled, instead it said final was 1080p...more than likely day one patch. Which is likely with all the New changes lately.....
@charizard1605: Except for the fact not running your Screens native resolution causes a blurrier image then a screen that had the games native res as it's resolution. Up-scaling has the exact same effect.
Game runs 1440p 60fps for me which is fucking sick! (at least the prologue did)
Cows getting the shaft on reso. Must be painful. So much for the 50% powah boost.
How did this even make sense to you before you decided to type it out?
Just came in here to say I'm going to play some Ground Zeros. Hit me up on XBLive if you want to MP. I'll be playing at.....wait oh sorry.
Fragbuddy
i have nothing against the XB1 version but i will be getting the game on the PS4 since i own every MGS game on Playstation systems.
Let me make this abundantly clear for people who do not understand the context of what they're looking at, the pictures on that website and that comparison chart depict what is being shown there. For the Xbox One it's a 1920x1080 image of a 1600x900 render as everything on the console is upscaled to 1920x1080 regardless of its internal rendering resolution.
It's stating the final output on Xbox One will be 1080p because the game has not gone gold yet, it's not in its final stage of production yet and they have yet to finalize the 1080p rendering resolution for the system. What you're seeing there is what it's currently at so people can compare and contrast.
The game is 1080p all the same as it is on the PlayStation 4, it's not going to be a 900p upscale.
^ ^ LMFAO @ the weak damage control from desperate lems like NyaDC. XPOSBone version is 900p plain and simple and upscaled like every other game on the WeakBox . At least it's not 720p like MGS:GZ was thanks to freed resources from Kinect.
OutputBone One strikes again.

What was that? Did you say something? I can't tell, I'm not fluent in poverty.
@Desmonic: Personally ... i could care less if X1 get 900p or 1080p.. Not only because ill never own an X1 therefore i dont care but in the end of the day when such titles coming to PC , the ideal platforms , that pulverizes easily current consoles in every single possible way as of graphics while itll cost exactly the same ... the choice is so easy .. makes consolesres or fps look irrelevant ...big time irrelevant. Aside the fact that in a week or 2 MGS V might have half price for PC for the one with patiences .. like i am.

I share your view it's like reading the comments of hyperactive child.
X1 version gained some fps since GZ? WOW. Looks like DX12 is at work folks. Originally was supposed to get this on ps4 but after playing the free version of GZ, i didn't exactly liked how it looked so probably grabbing it on pc.
@nyadc:
I know it's beside the point, but man that is probably the most unflattering screenshot of GZ you could take lol.

Just freeing Kinect = resolution gain?
1280x720p = 921,600 pixels
1600x900p = 1,440,000 pixels
That's about 56 percent increase. Kinect only consumes about 10 percent of GPU resource. Your claim doesn't add up.
Point 1
Some hints for you i.e. split render target feature that virtually combines DDR3 and ESRAM as single 1920x1080p frame buffer.
This was shown in GDC 2015. This avoids Sniper Elite 3's style repetitive ESRAM tiling clock cycle wastage. This workaround technique can't be done on XBox 360 since it's ROPS can't access GDDR3 memory.
Point 2
For small data types, here is XBO's 16 ROPS limitation workaround via 48 TMUs i.e. both unit types can write to memory. This workaround technique was shown during GDC 2014.
The two above techniques improves XBO's 1920x1080p frame buffer stability.
XBO has about 71 percent of shader power of PS4.

What? Can you site a source that explains that final output means it's because they're still working on the rendering and not that it's being upscaled? Or is that your opinion?
