Microsof; Sony to Join Forces? Microsoft Registers Baffling Domains

This got me confused i was reading a article and came across this. a domain name registeres with bosh. odd then i thought it was some joke, searched on the net and it popped up on some renowned sites like kotu.

Well read for your self

The registrations were uncovered bySuperannuationearlier today. On July 13, Microsoft registered the domainSony-Microsoft.com. On July 14, Microsoft again registered a domain, this time the reverse,Microsoft-Sony.com.

Could these be an indication of a project in the works, or is Microsoft just being preventative against impostors? Nothing is known about the reasoning behind the registration but it's bound to produce a mass of speculation. While it doesn't seem likely the two will be merging together on the gaming front, with the two still very much competitors in that area perhaps it could be a sign the two are joining forces in other areas?

They'd join forces anytime they thought they'd both make more money.

They do it all the time.

The pursuit of money does not tolerate fanboyism.

For all we know they could have just bought it so others don't use it (actually very likely)

Or could be part of an ad campaign (maybe like Mac vs PC, but Sony vs Microsoft)

Hell, the leak news of them buying itself may be an ad campaign

I agree with you that more competition is a good thing. However, I still wish I could have the best of both worlds.

true but both know that Nintendo has a lot to offer compared to them, not saying either Sony or MS are in bad positions but for a start both cater to the same demographs, and have sucess in these demographs to boot.Along with Sony's fairly big resources when it comes to hardware and MS handle the software side what the hell could go wrong for the average consumer? sure 1 less console on the market but at the same time we would be gaining a better one in a lot of aspects.

Combine the ideologies of live and some of PS +'s ideologies and it would be on for a sure fire winner for a lot of people along with robust and fairly up to date hardware i couldnt see any downsides to this if it were to happen.
