I fixed the title.
I lost my Killer Instinct install for some reason and it took 2 hours to get to 58%. Ryse freezed twice at 99% and took over an hour to do that last 1%.

The Hell? Yeah Microsoft needs to fix this problem. It is bad. I am not even sure they can.

Probably because they download any updates for the game during the install. Took me absolutely ages to get BF4 up and running.

Would have figured gamers know, by now, the install times are due to the game actually downloading from Live, instead of from the disc.

The discs only there to verify the game was purchased.

While installs can be frustrating when one just wants to play their new game ; it's still only a one time event so it's not really such a big deal. Great if they can fix it, but not a deal breaker if they can't

It varies from game to game. between 30-60% of the game has to be installed.

Watch some TV and order a Pizza on Xbox Live while you wait for the install ;)

Yeah, its a process. I think Dead Rising 3 took me 30-40 minutes before I could play.

I hope they find a way (I'm sure they will) to speed up install times. Something I really hated last gen ... Number of times I'd boot up a game for my nephew only for there to be numerous updates that had to be installed before he could even play. Talk about ruining a kids excitement.

The Xbone is a last-gen console.

It is NOT trolling to make statements that are logical and fact-based. xbone has similar power to 360. Still suffers from same problems as last-gen consoles.

40 minutes to install games? WOW. WOW. WOW. Wasn't the system supposed to be better at everything but graphics when compared to ps4? Because its not better at anything else but being almost twice as big and heavier than a ps4.

It will improve. Honestly though I would have thought that implementing the whole "play before install completes" feature would have been done right from the start.

I no doubt believe the install times but I heard different things about it that I can't know for certain what's the cause. Some people say the install pauses like at 1% or something then sits there forever, others say the game downloads entirely from an online download if it's online and says to unplug it to install and it installs fast after that, another guy says it's downloading the updates which can take forever if the update is large, and doesn't prioritize installation if a download is available (which also makes sense of the disconnect from online fix).

To me, this sounds like it can be fixed with an OS fix, allow games to install with priority over updates, allow games to launch without updates while updates download in background, and prompt user when update is ready and offer a game restart option.

As far as Dead Rising 3 only taking 30 minutes that seems rather fast as I heard the update was quite a large one, like 5 GB.

A friend of mine and I both had game nights to show off our consoles... he with the X1 and me with the ps4... Murphy's law dictates that this would be a mess and it was.. between his X1 refusing to boot ryse and claiming he needed to by a retail copy of the game (which was sitting in the disk tray) and ungodly long install times, to my ps4 kicking us out of games (ive litererally not had that happen once) and not playing streaming videos of game pages... I've come to the decision that both consoles are filled with suck when it counts...

Maybe if the PS4 didn't have to install games ... but it does.

I would honestly probably just pop in a game on one of my other Consoles and let it install. Wouldn't be an issue for me.

The PS4 hasn't been a picnic either. Battlefield and NBA2K are broken on PS4. PS4 analog sticks falling apart, PS4's freezing and having to reboot their systems. Not to mention the PS4's Blu-ray plyer is complete ass.

Both systems need work. And the PS4 needs games.

and frustrating... Im lucky enough to have multiple gaming distractions, so for now I'll let sony and MS work through the bugs while I game elsewhere. My Ps4 will be heavily used again for possibly tomb raider and definitely Infamous.
