All eyes are on Xbox 360 this week as both Kinect and 'best on 360' shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops storm into the shops, says Microsoft.
Speaking to CVG at the midnight Kinect launch this week, UK marketing boss Stephen McGill said he expects both Black Ops and the motion sensor to dominate Christmas lists this year.
"I think [core gamers'] eyes are on Xbox and Kinect," he said when asked about a very busy week for consumers and retailers alike.
"They're on Xbox because the best place to play Black Ops is on Xbox 360 - it's the only place you're going to get that exclusive content first and that's a big deal for gamers. I think Kinect is a big deal for gamers too and I think they're interested in that too," he said.
"I think there's going to be a lot of Black Ops under Christmas trees and I think there's going to be a lot of Kinect under the Christmas tree."
He added: "I think we're both going to have a great week and the key thing is retail are going to have a great week with both of the launches and I give our thanks to everyone who's opening the stores at midnight - they've got some long days and all credit to them."
Microsoft's previously estimated that Kinect will sell 5 million by the year's end, and McGill said he fully expects an immediate sell out of the device in the UK.
