I'm sure little will change... it's not like Apple, Google, and other major companies havent out innovated MS in the past decade regardless.carljohnson3456I know, but The only reason why this company's got a chance is bcause Microsoft had a STOP sign in front of them by the Justice Department. Is if u wanna run a race but they tell you that u can only pass 7 opponents and not 15.
Microsoft did so much for technology its amazing why people bad mouth them. People got mad when IE was bound to Windows OS. When MS did this they made browsers free. You had to purchase a web browser back in the day eg Netscape for around 200 bucks I remember. MS wanted to provide a richer experience for their OS such as a Adobe like suite but adobe threatened to sue I think and MS was stuck keeping their outdated Paint program on the OS. Lots of examples.
[QUOTE="patofeo1"][QUOTE="alexside1"]Proof?alexside1wow,. lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WxOp5mBY9IY Microsoft was gonna buy Apple, but after 1998 The USA told them they cant, , Microsoft was Prohibited from Buying Company's, Same way Microsoft got Skype, Microsoft would had google, and yahoo, etc.... Google would have Benn prohibited on Windows operating systems, Microsoft used to control the Internet, and what u see with you IE browser, ah yes a youtube video.... completely reliable.
If you actually did your research, you'd know that Microsoft had NON-VOTING shares of Apple during the late 90s.
MS bailed out apple when they were about to go bankrupt in 1997. Now apples lover crap all over MS any chance they get. PC for life.
[QUOTE="Rattlesnake_8"]MS has always bought out its competition.. either that or its done shady business to remove small time competitors. It's nothing new. MS once had a REALLY bad reputation because of it. Now they just have a reputation for bringing out one dance game after another on kinect :P I wasn't exactly happy to hear MS bought skype. I can see them introducing some ridiculous payment method. Possibly making people use it have a Windows Live/360 account and buy "points" to make calls. MS already ruined games that use Windows Live. Once upon a time MS was awesome.. back in the days of Age of Empires and Close Combat.patofeo1well, now type on google, News are saying that Microsoft wants Sprint, Controling ya cell provider, giving outlook and Skype, windows smart cellphone.
They better not, it would probably mean the end of my (real) unlimited data plan.

Are you serious?

I don't feel like going on a goose hunt through the internet to find the answer you are actually looking for. Sorry :P.[QUOTE="alexside1"] If you can't prove it, then don't claim it as a fact.alexside1

Wait... So since 1998, Microsoft was not allowed to buy companies? I'm positive they've bought companies since then. Or only companies that controled a certain percentage of market share? I'm interested, tell me more because I didn't know Microsoft had restrictions put on them. :0 I'm also going to take this chance and plug a movie that everyone should take a look at called Pirates of Silicon Valley. Cool movie about the rise of Microsoft and Apple, Bill Gates and Steve jobs.Not-A-Stalker
1. i saw that movie a few years back...kinda of interesting i liked it
2. There was a limit to how MUCH they can buy...i mean the fact the government stepped in is the scary part:|
yahoo put it's site up for sale for 3 days just to see what would happen.....guess which company jumped up first:lol:

Why are people arguing anti-trust is bad? That's like saying Sony should be the only player in the console market. Would the price be $300? No. Would the online work as well as it does when its not down? No. Would the games be as good? No. Competition is the best friend of consumers because if your the only one selling, you don't have anyone to fight with for the consumer's dollar. MS doesn't have the money to buy every competing company anymore. Its good to see the trust expire when its use is over. But to those of you using something besides Internet Explorer, you can bet that browser wouldn't exist without anti-trust and to those of you with Internet Explorer, you can bet it wouldn't be as good without the competition of competing browsers.

Again though, that was then, in todays age google and apple are heavyweights and Microsofts designs just don't compare. The antitrust was to prevent them from dominating computer OS and programs that ran on them, where as these days there are many OSes running on phones and other tech devices that MS has no chance of gaining ground on. Personally, it's almost time to put an anttrust lawsuit on one of the other big companies now.
[QUOTE="Vadamee"][QUOTE="carljohnson3456"]I'm sure little will change... it's not like Apple, Google, and other major companies havent out innovated MS in the past decade regardless.adamlovesuThey haven't. Google has crapped on ms several times ? Not sure if you're asking a question or making a statement. Regardless, buying technology and repackaged it is not innovation. Google and Apple are guilty of this just as much as Microsoft and no less. If you want to expand the definition of "innovative" then go for it, but the broader the term is the more subjective it becomes subsequently. I trust Microsoft a lot more than I trust either Google or Apple. The latter two companies are on the chopping block for privacy violations on their mobile platforms as we speak. Furthermore, comparing Microsoft and Google is about as gratuitous as comparing a great white to a grizzly bear: They're two completely different beasts which are the kings of their respective environments.
