Microsoft, Bungie sued over Halo 3

TGDaily: A court case started in a California district court alleging that popular game Halo 3 doesn't work with the Xbox 360.

The cla$$ action, filed by Randy Nunez and others, alleges that Microsoft and Bungie made Halo 3 and stated that it was compatible with the Xbox 360, but that it wasn't.

I always had suspicions that Halo 3 wasnt really a 360 game. This just confirms that...

So according to him Halo 3 crashes, freezes and locks his 360 up so he sues MS and Bungie telling them that the game is not compatible with the 360, even though over 9 million people have bought the game and not complained.

I lol'd at this story... but I kind of have to support this guy in a way. When I first bought my 360, my first games were Dead Rising and Halo 3 even before I set up live. Dead Rising worked perfectly... but Halo 3 made me so angry. Since I didn't have live yet, I only got to play the campaign... and it stopped working for me at the Cortana level. It could have been so perfect... I had just finished my 15 page paper for my english class, my projects for my Chemistry and History classes, and it was the weekend before finals. I wanted to spend that Friday night pulling an all nighter to finish Halo 3's campaign (since I hadn't gotten to use my 360 at all since I got it.) I loved every second of the campaign... right up to when it froze in the Cortana leve. :( I took it to Gamestop and switched it for another new copy. Same problem occured whenever I hit a certain point in the Cortana level the game would freeze. I went to Gamestop and tried to get a different copy one more time but they didn't have any more copies. I ended up trading it in, buying the first Gears of War, and getting around $15 back, which ended up being a better bargain. About a week later I went to a Gamecrazy by my house since I had no luck with Gamestop and tried to get a new copy Halo 3. They told me that they were out of new copies because a lot of people who put the gameguard warrenty on the games had recently come to replace their games, which also malfunctioned the way mine did. My friends at Gamecrazy basically told me they had no more copies and that I would be better off waiting for ODST. Of course I know most people didn't have such poor luck with the game, but I do understand where this guy is coming from. However, sueing them on the grounds that the game is not compatible is just nonsense.

now i'm back, and it still makes no sense. WTF is all i can say

Just a guess but I'll bet it has something to do with not having a Harddrive. Seems to me you need one of those to be able to play all Halo 3 has to offer right? Which would mean it's not exactly fully compatable with every 360 right?

That's easier than you realize. "Walks into court room and opens a harddriveless Arcade unit plugs in ethernet cable and puts in Halo 3" I don't know about you but I'd be willing to bet not all advertised features will be functional. I don't seem to recall anything telling someone they need a hard drive for all features.

I do think sueing over this is just dumb but he may acually have a case.

don't be too surprised by some of the things people say and do regarding Halo.

Remember Halo is one of the most Loved/Hated games in history simple as that.

There are those who will do, say or side with anything to state how much they hate it and out of spite. We all should know that by now here in System Wars.
