Microsoft can win everyone`s heart without much effort.

Rumors has it that Microsoft will reveal the new Xbox very soon. To be honest it can be that hard to win everyones attention. IMO the Sony presentation was very poor. 

1. Microsoft could actully show of the next console. This will probably mean A LOT. 

2. Focus more on showing us good games. I think Sony was focusing way more on promoting their publishers games, rather than selling us the console.

3. No online mode required.

4. Announce used game support 100%. Sony is pissing people off right now because of their communication about this issue.

5. Backwards compatible. After reading comments the last few days I noticed that this is WAY more important to people than I first thought.

The last one can be a bit hard if they didnt plan on that, but I think they could win people`s heart very easy by following these steps. 

If they think I'm going to pay to play online and for the option to use features that require a subscription to even use then they can take their new console and shove it up their ass.

- To beat Sony on games will be hard to do.MS can do it if they show new epic IP's

- Sony got confused by the used games thing. There will be used games on both consoles, that would be a dumb idea. To play online you might need a online pass code though for used games (Which the PS3 already does)

- MS could be Backwards compatible. Which would be a  plus over PS4.

Does not really matter to me though because I will be buying both evantually just like how I own a 360 and PS3. Still will have to decide which one I will get day 1 (Depends which console has the better games at launch). I love hardcore games, MS and Sony bring great hardcore games to the table. So no fanboyisum for me.

Not really.  It's what inside that counts.  Plus Sony has plenty of time to show their console, Holiday 2013 is still 10 or so months away.

Dafuq is wrong with you?  You buy a console to play games.  If all they had shown was a box, everyone would be asking, "Well WTF does it do?"  Moot.

I'm confused, be more specific.  Forcing the system to have an internet connection at all times is quite possibly the worst idea ever.

4. Announce used game support 100%. Sony is pissing people off right now because of their communication about this issue.

I've missed the confusion about this issue, but (hypothetically) blocking used games would be detrimental but I'd imagine MS doing this without bashing an eyelid if they do what you suggested as your third argument.

5. Backwards compatible. After reading comments the last few days I noticed that this is WAY more important to people than I first thought.

It's a decent initial selling point, but it'll be very difficult to be fully compatible with all 360 games and all Xbox games (even the X360 couldn't pull that off).  Plus Sony's Gaikai purchase could make it possible to play all games from PS1, PS2, and PS3 eras.  BC via emulation is much harder to pull off without increasing costs significantly.

Or they could make actual games instead of force-feeding us Kinect and quit relying on multiplat games to carry them.  The architecture between the two systems will make practically all multiplatform games identical on each system.

basically all sony did in their conference was announce a bunch of multiplats and other annoucements. i hope ms doesn't make the same mistake. 

Why would you be required to go offline

1. Why in gods name is it so important to everyone to see a chunk of plastic with a disk slot and maybe a few USB ports? Sure it wouldn't hurt, but why is it such a huge deal? It's 2013, we know what a console is going to look like. 2. Sony showed around 4 games, and announced several more. Many of them to be exclusive. Sony showed plenty of games, and if they can't sell you on at least 2 or 3 of them, you were never interested to begin with. (Games should sell a console) 3. What are you even saying here? 4. They have in fact confirmed that the system won't block used games on a core level, and that publishers can choose to take the same online pass approach they have through the last half of the current generation. Where exactly is the confusion? 5. I'll give you this one. BC is a bit of a deal. Would I prefer the PS4 had full BC, of course I would. Since it is such a big deal to be though, I'll keep my PS3.darkspineslayer

I agree; M$ is primed to absolutely kill Nintendo and Sony with their reveal. It's all reliant on their execution however. If they come out with Kinect 2 year olds for 3 hours it's game over. If however they reveal the console, announce Halo 5, name price points, show backwards compatability, etc., they win easily.

All of my Xbox owning friends think otherwise. MS has A LOT to prove and need to focus on games and not bloody Kinect and Entertainment garbage. I am pissed as an Xbox owner at the lack for first party support by MS beyond just crap Kinect garbage and the occassional Halo and Gears. For me to even consider supporting MS again next gen: No fee for Live....at all none. Bullcrap they charge when every other system is free. Steam free, PSN free, Nintendo free. Have a lot of great first party titles b/c next gen MS will NOT own multiplatform superiority. Do not focus on Kinect. It is ok to have that option for different markets than me, but the focus should be on core games. I think MS is very ignorant if they think people are just going to roll over and buy their console if they do what they have been doing the last 2.5 years.nightshade869

Other than the Xbox live being completely free comment ( never gonna happen, best you can hope for is free online play and it really should be free) I completely agree with you. MS left the 360 on a sour note, they need to prove that they can still rock the house if they want me to buy the next console. They have a even bigger job ahead of them if they want me to keep the 720 as my primary system for multiplats ( No always online, no used game bans.)

Fable gets too much **** it's a fun series, rumors are the next one may be a MMO, which may lead it to a comeback. I think it's way too soon for Halo 5 and Gears 4, I expect Alan Wake 2 and PGR 5, maybe a new rare game.

How to win my heart:

Disband 343 and give the Halo series to a developer who doesn't blow ass.
