Microsoft doesn't give a flip about gaming or consumers wants/needs.

I've been hearing so many gamers/consumers criticize Microsoft for not putting out more exclusive games of 2009 to present, but here's the truth of it all: The Xbox management team of 2008 to present isn't the same as the management team of 2001-2007.

They just don't give a flip about gaming & is only in this industry to try to take over your living room. Heck, they even once said that they don't care about exclusives.

Only Nintendo &/or Sony cares about gamers & gaming in general.

Nintendo was the first company that started chasing casuals. m$ followed and never looked back while Nintendo is trying to get their core fans back but its too late.

Sony is the only company that has stayed loyal to its fans and truly cares about real gamers.

I did criticize big N for going casual but they did it to get new groups of people, who wouldn't other wise try, to get into gaming.  M$ on the other hand ONLY went that route because they saw SSS nintendo made by doing so.

I like Sony as much as the next guy, but to say that they aren't trying "dominate the living room" is blind fanboyism. A huge part of their push over the past 8 years in things unrelated to games. Do you even realize the role that Sony plays in the film industry. What about consumer electronics (like the 3D TV they tried to push). The Playstation "Move" certainly doesn't cater to what many consider the hard core crowd. The Playstation Store now devotes as much space to movies/TV as it does games. Stop being a blind fanboy and act like Sony all of a sudden is focused purely on games and gamers.

Seems to me with more sales than ps3 in systems and games, more games released...etc etc they cared quite a bit. Its funny that the 360 has been out longer than any other console without a successor and when MS ramp down development for it in preparation for the next system something every system before it has done sheens try to use it as meaning something.

Ive had fun with my 360 for 7 years.

who cares about sony, they don't even have party chat, the controller sucks, even with the better hardware the graphics are worse. A couple of exclusives don't make a system for me, besides xbox has some good exclusives too, not as much as sony but still the ps3 is like a beefed up ps2 while the x360 did a lot for gamers. It made it a lot more social, easy, reliable and the console didn't break the bank either.evildead6789

Games are a huge part of living room entertainment and considering the overwhelming majority of games are multiplats, MS sees little reason to put out tons of obscure exlcusives that won't even sell 500k units like Sony does. MS just wants to pump all of its money into a handful of core franchises to appease core gamers and then let third parties satisfy them the rest of the time.

MS is in the business of making money, and they are better at it than Sony is.

Casuals out number core gamers. By quite a bit just look at the top 10 sold week in and week out. Looks like they are giving the majority of people exactly what they want and need. You and most core gamers simply fall into the minority. FPSfan1985

If the rumors end up being true (mandatory kinect, always online, no used games, etc...), i will have to completly agree!

There's still hope, though. MS got it right with Xbox and 360, since both consoles had powerful hardware for their time, were easy to develop for and did focus mainly on core gaming.
