Microsoft hires Jonathan Ross

So aside from giving up on games, Microsoft has apparently given up on actual game developers and has just hired personalities.

Ross, whose production company Hotsauce created iOS game Catcha Catcha Aliens, will work at Microsoft part-time as a consultant, Harrison explained.

Lee Schuneman, boss of Microsoft Studio Lift London, has spent the last couple of months working with Ross, and praised his video game knowledge.

"We thought we should try and find someone who can think about gaming, TV, technology and toys and bring all that together," Schuneman said.

Just because I like the genre, doesn't mean they do. They have expressed their feelings about these kind of games plenty of times and it was always negative.

@uninspiredcup: This is the sort of thing that really makes me doubt the next generation. Who seriously cares about joining gaming and TV together? Who needs that? Why not just focus on making very simply better games? Attempting to blur films and games together over the last few years has only resulted in more cutscenes and less game time. They should have learnt from that. Developers this generation have lacked confidence badly in the game play component and tried to hide it under the storytelling.

And yet cows used the PS3 more for its media capabilities than they did for gaming.

I know there are some 'HARDCORE' gamers on here who JUST want gaming and couldn't possibly enjoy something that offers more, but you =/= world.

Theres a bigger audience out there who DOES want all this. So ...

Desperate attempt to make everything negative.

You guys haven't won at anything yet, nothing has begun. The truth is, all you have is faster ram and marginally better graphics potential. That is literally it. I will tell you this now, the difference will not be anything like the difference between the Xbox and PS2 in graphics.

And your launch isn't even looking good. You have Knack which is lol at best and Killzone, which is considered such a generic game in the fps genre that Killzone probably benefits more from the launch hype of the PS4 than the other way around. And the monkeys at Sony thought it would be a better idea to release GT6 as a PS3 game instead of a PS4 game.

You guys can hype all you want, but cut away the BS and the PS4 isn't looking as hot as you make out.

He has a lot of interest in games, movies and Japanese stuff. His wife has also co wrote Kick Ass and Xmen First Class. He could come up with something interesting.
