Insults? He specifically said it's important for the industry, but that overlooking current consumers in hopes for the future is not always the best outlook.

What exactly does Microsoft have planned to current customers other than a bootleg Gears Of War game? Microsoft abandoned the current customers a long time ago.

No they didn't abandon current consumers :? Don't over exaggerate.
Microsoft has consistently been building their console as an entertainment device, for many years (as have Sony, to a lesser extent), and appealing to a  wider  audience than the "core" crowd -- which everybody b*tches and moans about here. That being said, they still provide a briliant platform for multiplatform games, and build upon that, by offering timed-exclusive/exclusive DLC and content where possible.
If you don't like what they are offering, that's fine. However, I can guarantee that their market research is better than what we have access to.

I see this is going to be a "bu-bu- they don't have exclusives" debate. Shocking.Â
They're offering a multitude of games outside of exclusives. They rely on  other  features of the console, and their business practice, in order to draw in the consumer. Recently, that has been to expand the "game consoles are just for games" mentality, and to create a multimedia platform.
Like I said, if you don't like it, that's fine. However, I can guarantee that they have better market research than we do.
But the only one with a record of that is Microsoft. In fact, Sony has more than proven the opposite. When the PS2 released, they didn't ignore the PS1. When the PS3 released, they didn't abandon the PS2, so why he or anybody else would think things would change with the PS4 is beyond me. Microsoft on the otherhand abandoned the Xbox for the 360. So him saying that is pretty comical and ironic.Insults? One of the most overlooked and underrated factors. I love that they support their systems so much for so long. If only they gave their handhelds that much attention.

Okay. I agree, it wasn't an insult. And TC would do us all a favor if he pointed out the insults instead of just making random statements and not backing them with examples.getting mad at a company for supposedly saying something about another company? now THAT's pathetic.
Microsoft smells.Â
And by smell I don't mean like how you or I do by using our olefactory senses. I don't mean smell as a verb. I mean it as an adjective. More specifically, I mean they have an unpleasant odour like an aldehyde or cadavarine.Â
Oh yeah. Feel the burn Microsoft. Feel the burn like how it burns when I inhale the smelly aroma of Microsoft's casual doctrine.Â
Microsoft is nothing more than a corporation who wants to make money to appease it's shareholders, whereas Nintendo and Sony don't care about shareholders or profits at all.Â

MS is going to support the 360 as long as Sony is going to with the PS3. They had to abandon the Xbox because of the the deal they had with Nvidia. They couldn't keep losing money on the Xbox.Â

some fo the XBL games ARE for 'core gamers' as you call them (i disagree with that phrase) i am not so pathetic that i segregate Gamers into different categorys as far as i am cocerned anybody who plays games as there primary hobby , regardless of system, the way they play, type of games is a GAMER, you obviously have not been gaming very long , we never had any of this 'core gamer' Crap in the 80's or 90's, i wonder what the human motivation is behind segregating everything, it's divisive. The only thing MS will offer at their 720 confence whenever that is nothing but entertainment and more Kinect games.

I'd hardly call starting an entire developing studio to carry on the Halo franchise, dropping the "core market". It also doesn't help that they still publish great games, and have a huge focus on their Arcade portion of the 360 (though far from the best digital-publisher).
They aren't perfect, but these inane arguments, which hold no water, are getting so boring.
