yes, it is. it's not news that microsoft clearly has devastatngly more critically acclaimed games than nintendo among critics this generation.
dude you have like 4 threads on 1 page. yes MS is winning in software sales, wii is 3rd coz it has shovelware
[QUOTE="delta3074"][QUOTE="Michael324"]Nintendo wii is outselling everything else but it's games are in like 3rd place.micky4889the 360 has the highest software attach rate in history No i'm pretty sure PS2 still holds that crown.
um, I don't think so.
halo 3 - 30 % attach rate, 10M on xbox 360 with 30 million sold.
San andreas - nearly 12 # attach rate, 17.3M on PS2 with ~150 million sold

The only thing high attach rates mean is that no one is buying the systems. Its not an important stat to anybody who matters.

360 is selling more then ps3 yet it has higher attach rate at the same time. Higher attach rate mean people actually buy games on the system ;)

The only thing that matters to people in the industry are total sales. Do really think people who make games care about what the attach rate is or do you think they care about how many games are going to sell in total?

Devs have a better chance of getting higher game sales on a system that has higher attach rate rather then the one with lower attach rate.

If there are more 360 world wide than ps3 and their attach rate is higher, how in the world could the ps3 sells more software in total? Just wondering... So yes, people who make games care about these numbers... Not only these numbers but I'm sure their accountants do some research... wouldn't you?[QUOTE="DaBrainz"]

Absolutely not, the only thing that the higher attach rate means is that a higher percentage of consumers of a particular install base will purchase a game. The percentage means nothing if the install base is small like the 360 or PS3. Only total sales matter.
I'm pretty sure in EA and Ubi's (and a couple more, not sure though) latest financial reports claim that they get more revenue from PS3 game sales than 360.bdum_pshhhYou need to look into WHY they had increases, instead of blindly just believing them, Take 2 jump - Bioshock PS3 in 08; Ubisoft jump - Haze in 08; EA jump Orange box PS3 December 07 (reflected in 08 financials) So lets be fair here. All other comparisons show 360 lead in all areas.

Worst damage control ever. AS OF DECEMBER 31, 2004. PS2 was around for four years old at the time period, 360 is 4 years old. PS2 games were not cheap during 2004.EDIT: Also, what are you talking about, how does more hardware sold= bigger attach rate? If anything it's the opposite.:?
The really important games Exclusives/Multiplats are selling better on 360.McdonaIdsGuyOh really ? The recent two most important ones SF IV and Resident evil 5 sold MORe on the PS3.
[QUOTE="McdonaIdsGuy"]The really important games Exclusives/Multiplats are selling better on 360.freeloader_101Oh really ? The recent two most important ones SF IV and Resident evil 5 sold MORe on the PS3.True, but thats because both of those games appeal to the eastern audience as well as the western, and both Capcom games didn't sell that much more on the PS3. Usually, if a game appeals to USA and Europe, it will sell more on the 360. If a game is released in all regions, Europe. Japan and USA, it will be almost equal in sales.
