Space is a problem for many 360 owners with a 20 gb hard drive with xbox live. You really only get to use 13 gigs of the 20 they say you get. Im already down to 5 gigs and ive had my 360 for a few months over a year. I deleted all my demos btw. I don't have any movies or installed games on there. But even just addons and rock band songs really add up in space. Even a 60 gig hd would be good, but thats way overpriced at 90 bucks! and 150 bucks for 120 gigs? They need to lower the price of these. They might even make more money off arcade games (The reason I;m not buying shadow complez is because it takes nearly a gig of space)

Sorry for the wall of text

not really a wall of text and I agree with you. I'm a 20 Gig owner and I simply refuse to buy a new HDD at that insane price

YEAH! Everytime I've seen someone complain about Microsoft products on GAMESPOT, that always turns out to be more effective than complaining about it on Xbox.com.

Proprietary parts are always going to be more expensive. It's silly, but if you want it, you have to pay for it.

It is so foul. The 360 needs space...and they basically rob you. I had my 360 for a while and I did okay with just having arcade games and stuff. As soon as you could DL games to the hard drive I was strapped for space....bigtime. I went to gamestop and bought a new hard drive and I just felt like I was getting took for my money. All I could think about was how many games I could get with that money. I went home....no new game....just a brick to download game. Wow...I'm still salty about it.

Not really. Complaining on Xbox.com at least gives you some chance of having it seen by Xbox executives who make decisions. Complaining here is pointless and silly.

It's a hard drive in a plastic shell. I'm not paying $100 more than I should for that. Microsoft are ****oles when it comes to accessories.

I've contemplated getting a modified hard drive, but things like that always seem a bit fishy. Think I'll probably end up getting a used hard drive at some point. You hear that Microsoft? No moneys for you!

They are a big corporation, and with most big coporations, they are greedy and will price it at w/e they want. You HAVE to buy their brand, right? There's no other way around it.

Yeah, it's absolutely crazy, but it's why they did it. You can't easily get an adaptable hard drive, so there free to charge what they want.

Yeah but there's always a cheaper alternative. In this case, the 20 gb harddrive in most stores in the US is anywhere around $50-$60 but on ebay you could get one straight from the manufacturers in China for around $30. Either way Microsoft really needs to drop the price on these things...

Yeah, you can usually find cheaper alternatives. The 360 HDD tries to limit the amount of alternatives, however people are resourceful.

MS should be taking the money they make from overpriced add ons and Live fees and hire some super talented first party devs, and create some super inhouse engines.

Instead, we'll get another Halo

And isn't it bad?

The HD is clearly overpriced for a crappy 4200 rpm, sata 1, 120gb fujitsu hd.

And yes I agree with that dude, another halo come on, I'm sick of it, with more than 50 games my 360 sits inside it's box on corner of my room. See the picture on my album if you don't believe it !!

Clearly MS could care less about the fact that they are ripping everybody off on the hard drives, just gotta get over it. I got me a 60GB HD for $60 & now I'm set for the rest of this gen on my 360.
