Yes and no. 7770 doesn't replicate TMU (load/store) and cache/local data storage interactions like 12 CU.

This is why I don't like 7850 at 900Mhz being equal to PS4's 18 CU at 800Mhz i.e. more cache = less trips to external memory.

Both PS4 (1.84 TFLOPS) and X1 (1.31 TFLOPS) are in 1.x TFLOPS range while my R9-290 is at 4.848 TFLOPS range.

I'm not going say more than that i.e. I'm not a NVIDIA fanboy.

R9-290 is a beast.

What about when you have stuff open in the background, the kinects power useage and so on. They probably stripped it down to running almost nothing at all to give the lowest percent possible on it.

The real question is what is it under load and running in real world settings.

I think they are seeing they have a serious problem on their hands, they were probably caught off guard with how much horsepower PS4 was packing, thats why the bump in clock speed and now OS. Anything helps, but I just dont think you can make up the difference from 7770 to 7870 add in the ram issues and PS4 being much easier to code for. I still think Xone has enough to run games at 1080p once they learn the architechure better, and PS4 will do it with ease.

The PS4 is now 27.981% more powerful. :P

Snap feature will be disabled. X-game chat will probably be diasbled as well. The only thing you'll be able to do is go to the homescreen and have a limited amount of things to do. You can't browse the web when you're playing games. etc.

What a disaster. Use your money to hire some decent engineers like Cerny, Microsoft.

Cerny is the smartest man alive in the gaming industry.

It depends on the workload type i.e. depends on compute size and data reuse factors.

Multi media machine is anything that plays more than 1 media,games,music,movies that is a multi media machine.

The only thing the xbox one has on the PS4 is HDMI in,which i don't care for and is completely redundant,since you still need your cable box turn on to be able to use it with the xbox one,so 2 devices to do a job 1 device alone can do,is not really an advantage.

Really that is funny Cerny has been congratulated by pretty much every developer out there,the PS4 is even easier to code for than the xbox one..

Did anyone expect the OS to be a GPU sink? If anything, the OS should be a CPU sink, not GPU sink. That's like expecting your Windows desktop to be taxing on your card
