do some research.
Not only does halo odst contain halo odst without the need to own halo 3, it will contain the multiplayer component of halo 3 meaning you can play halo 3 multiplayer without owning halo 3, as well it will contain every DLC released to date for halo 3 last i checked.
They charge $100 for an adapter and M$ is ripping you off with a $60 game that should be a $60 add on!? Try again, they are greedy b@stards but its all Bungie here.Does it bother you that Microsoft is charging full price for Halo 3: ODST, which is a add-on? I mean to play the game you have to have Halo 3, and they are still charging full price!

I stand corrected! Still a little much for the same game with another story.

Halo: ODST is more than the 3 - 5 hour expansion it once was. Now, especially since it is also shipping with the complete Halo 3 multiplayer experience on a second disc and the campaign has been expanded, it is essentially a full game.

if thats the case then every game for the most part is a rip off since rarely do we see any major upgrades within a few years of release its usually between quite a number of years or between seperate generations.ODST has a lot of content. The campaign seems like a lot of fun. Can't wait to play it cooperatively. Firefight looks like a LOT of fun. I'm probably most excited about that. Plus 3 new maps. I'm fine with spending $60 on it.

You don't play as a Spartan this time around... It's an entirely new game, with an entirely new look...[QUOTE="drknockboot2"][QUOTE="WilliamRLBaker"]

Noone really knew what ODST was before. Was it a DLC, an expansion pack, if you need to have Halo 3 to play it, etc.? But now we know that it is a standalone like Crysis Warhead. I believe they're also selling it with a controller, if the price is right, I might get that one too.
I'm not very happy about it, but I heard there making special edition which saves 10 bucks (technically) and I need a new controller (Special Edition comes with game plus wireless controller for $99) :D. Has the price been confirmed or the special edition I mentioned, heard stuff about it but not sure if true?
If it bothers u sooo much than just don't buy the game nobody's tellin u to buy it!!!Does it bother you that Microsoft is charging full price for Halo 3: ODST, which is a add-on?

kinda reminds me of GT 5: PI agree it is overpriced. I highly doubt it will be over five hours long, but oh well. What are you going to do?II-FBIsniper-IIit is a full game now, with 1,000 gamerpoints just like every other full game. MS doesnt allow 1,000 points for expansions or DLC.

"First of all, while Halo 3: Recon did originate with the goal of building a 3 to 5 hour campaign experience, I can safely say that as is always the case with Bungie, the team is continuing to put more and more into it and the final product will end up being some order of magnitude more than the initial design. Game Informer also touches on the new structure to the campaign experience and how there are basically two separate components to the campaign. The initial play time targets were focused on one of those components. And lastly, there are still plenty of things we're not talking about with Recon that will further enhance and add to the experience, play time, and replayability of the final package.
Regardless of how long it ultimately takes you to make it through the Halo 3: ODST campaign, Game Informer was told that the disc will offer 1,000 new achievement points and that all of them are tied to the campaign."

You know what it is without playing it heh. Uncharted was a 5 hour long game charged full-priced with no online, do you think people who bought that game felt ripped off?Does it bother you that Microsoft is charging full price for Halo 3: ODST, which is a add-on?

Regardless, if Halo 3 was single player only, I would feel ripped off paying $60 for it. I highly doubt Halo 3 ODST's campaign will offer more content than Halo 3. That said, I'll probably buy it since it comes with the new maps and a beta invite. You win this round Microsoft.[QUOTE="navyguy21"]it is a full game now, with 1,000 gamerpoints just like every other full game. no but it bothers me that people point out faults with one games "expansion" when they dont even consider their home systems flaws. (gt5 prolouge) thread = phail. How many times does this have to be said?

So its essentially halo 3,which people will be able to pick up for 15 euro?[QUOTE="The_Game21x"]So its essentially halo 3,which people will be able to pick up for 15 euro?NO it isn't Halo 3 it's a completely different game with different characters. The only thing the same is the multi. Since it comes with ALL released DLC, that's not a bad deal.
Hell, since quotes from devs say it's longer, let's say it's 5-6 hours long, being practical.
The single-player is DIFFERENT. It's more stealth-based. There's different weapons, it's open-world, and there are new features that complement a bit more stealth.
Is it the best game value ever? No. But I can think of a hell of a lot of games that offer less value for $60.
Besides, it's Halo. AAA score and 4 million copies sold, guarenteed. The disc could be a 10 minute video of Master Chief in the shower and it would still sell 3 million copies. And that's coming from a Halo fan.
And TC, say hi to your $40 Gran Turismo 5 demo for me.
Extremely original and funny...ODST is a stand-alone 5 hour long expansion pack for Halo 3, just as Halo 3 is a stand alone 5 hour long expansion pack for Halo 2.

I'm not buying this game.. but I would feel ripped off if I paid $60 for a freakin add on.RM84xThat "a freakin add on" comes with more content than a lot of full-priced games.
no. ripping off is when you get sold something that is not as promised or money is stolen from you.
If they charge something for it that people are willing to pay, no one is getting ripped off.
flazzle
ps2 anyone?
