...or rather, why would being a company that predominately focuses on your console itself and leave the game making to the developers? Microsoft does so well in the US that they can get away with that strategy.

Halo, Forza, and Fable are their only first party franchises. Gears of War is third party and MS does not own the IP or EPIC. 

They just released Halo and Forza so what are they going to have for the Next Xbox?

I really think that if Msoft goes the route of a ~$300 console that includes a two year Live contract (akin to the way cell phones are payed for) they will continue to be the most popular console. If you buy a Xbox you're going to get Live...just like when you buy a phone.

Well if they do go the Cheaper "Pay Plan" route, I think so too.

That would be illogical since they don't make enough games. It would be best for them to stick with Windows and quit everything they are trying to do.

This is a silly topic because Microsoft would suck as 3rd party. Halo is old, stale, abandoned by Bungie and inferior to Call of Duty. Fable is junk and Forza is nothing compared to Gran Turismo.

No because unlike Sony, Microsoft actually push forward console gaming when it comes to features and integration. Why do you think Sony has been copying them and trying to catch up the entire gen? The only good thing Sony are for is their first party, so them going third party (or just selling off their studios) would be best. RR360DD

Does MS even has enough games to go 3rd party?

They really need 3-4 more 1st party developers. They still have the franchises. Forza, Fable, Halo, PGR, Perfect Dark, Kameo, Killer Instinct, Banjo & Kazaooie, Conker, Perfect Dark, Viva Pinata, Perfect Dark, MechAssault, Links, RallySport Challenge, Amped, GunStringer, Dance Central, Kinect Sports, Kinect Adventures, Kinectimals, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, etc...
