I'd like some confirmation from Microsoft themselves, but I'm pretty certain this is the case.
Excellent news.
I wonder how much MS had to give up to get the publishing license.PBSnipes
The fact that ME has already clocked in at 1 million sold and that EA generate more money on the 360 than every other platform available, and then some, would be incentive enough. It's a guaranteed hit.

But EA could have kept the publishing rights and put ME 2 and 3 on the 360 and PC and made more money (directly anyway) than if they let MS publish ME2 and 3. So MS had to give something pretty significant (either a lump sum or revenue sharing agreement) back.I am pretty sure we will not see an actual confirmation until the announce ME 2 at a big event like E3 or TGS. Like they did when they announced NG2 being published by MS at TGS 2007.I'd like some confirmation from Microsoft themselves, but I'm pretty certain this is the case.
Excellent news.

I don't really like unnamed sources, but could see Microsoft paying to get the next two Mass Efffects. But if kinda makes sense that they would publish the next two, because Mass Effect is atrilogy.
If MS already had this in contract before EA purchased, it would likely still hold true.I'd like some confirmation from Microsoft themselves, but I'm pretty certain this is the case.
Excellent news.

Wise move by MS. It has sold 1 million copies and maybe more.flowdee79im looking at the vgchartz numbers(which in themselves are most likely inflated anyways which they tend to do over there) and it has a little over half a mil listed for europe and america. who knows maybe the sold the other 500k in japan, or that is 1 million sold to retailers.

1) vgchartz is garbage
2) stop being in denial
 its debatable as whether the game is the best RPG out now, much less better than a game 2 years from release! a lot of people would consider oblivion better(im not one of those) but you are getting WAY ahead of yourself saying it is the best RPG this gen.final fantasy 13 got nothing on ME

I disagree I would rather play FF than ME anyday.....One of the main reason I may get a PS3 is because of FF. So far no RPG I have ever played even KOTOR has come close to a FF game. There are some that are close but it still a game that I will try my best not to miss.
probly wont be
with me being exclusive kotor probly will be as well
white45e
Maybe....But if there is a Mass Effect deal it may have been made before EA bought out Bioware. Plus so far everything pointing to the next KOTOR being a MMO. If that true well it may suck anyways. But who knows how long that will take. It looks like we will have another ME before we get another KOTOR.

1 mil sold to retailer.
I doubt EA cares as long as BioWare makes money, they make money.
BioWare is making that Sonic RPG for the DS as well and Sega is doing the publishing.

they always were....just with the merge the IP was up for grabs....think about it wee grass hoppa
Mass Effect= 1 million in one month.I'll be buying it day one, but you know MGS isn't a fast seller. I don't understand why they would say something like that. It'll sell alot over time, but it's never had fast Halo like sales.
Metal Gear Solid 4 = 1 million in one day?
Good luck to ya Kojima, i'll get mine pre-odered but you'll need more than a miracle.

1 mil sold to retailer.
How does that matter?
Publishers/Devs make their money from games sold to retailers....not us.
We're paying Gamestop not the Devs
Don't they teach business in school anymore???

» Microsoft To Publish Next Two Mass Effect Games? The new print issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly magazine has an article on the recent news of BioWare and Pandemic being purchased by Electronic Arts. The article points out that because of the purchase, EA will now own Mass Effect, the recently released sci-fi RPG from developer BioWare that Microsoft published for the Xbox 360. However, according to an unnamed source cited in the article, an agreement has been made for Mass Effect 2 and 3 to both be published by Microsoft as well, with BioWare and EA to be listed as developers rather than publishers. BioWare, EA and Microsoft have yet to officially announce Mass Effect 2 although the sales and critical acclaim have been high so it would seem to be a likely possibility.

Oblivion came out on 360 in 2006.
Fallout 3 is coming out on 360.
Hmm...

whether or not that will happen, it makes more sense than what he's saying. atleast we've heard about the possibility of it going multiplat.

Yes Bioware was purchased by EA - but that purchase does not actually take full effect until January. Microsoft still had bargaining chips, and although I doubt EA gave it up easily - they really had no other choice but to bow down.

I'll explain my thoery, and also the comment about MGS:
Kojima is a man of his word. He actually want to support the "cell" chip to the fullest. He is not porting MGS as he said at E3, TGS, and Lepzieg. Name me one person from EA or Bioware saying Mass Effect will not be ported? You think because MS publish those game means not port? EA will probable do a time exclusive deal with MS, and then will port the games to the other system. Name me one EA game on console that has been exclusive?
White45e have you played any other rpg with all the tech issues oblivion kils it and ff xiii will demolish it
and by the way good for lemmings theyll get aloveit
