"During aninterview yesterday, Steve Ballmer was asked about Blu-Ray and the Xbox 360. I wanted to clear something up. Steve was referring toBlu-Ray accessories for the PC. As we have said in the past, we have no plans to introduce a Blu-Ray drive for the Xbox 360. In fact, the future of home entertainment starts very soon when Xbox 360 becomes the first and only console to offerinstant-on 1080p streaming HD movies. With alibrary of thousands of TV shows and moviesto choose from, Xbox 360 owners can instantly watch the movies they want, when they want, in the highest form of high definition."

Where do you see the letters "PC" in that statement?

I wanted Blu Ray so I got a PS3. The Xbox 360, PC, and Wii does not need Blu Ray so far though , they're doing just fine.

Even if a Blu ray drive was announced for Xbox it would be a waste...it would probably cost a good 150-200 and for the extra money you MIGHT as well go buy a PS3 that can do it all.

You don't need BLU-RAY.

The future is Digital Downloads and Streaming, which the 360 has at 1080P

For all of you older users out there that are married & thought that women were indecisive & hard to figure out, check out these M$ execs. They are more indecisive than even my wife thought possible.

Ofc they don't, with 1080p streaming, netflix or whatever it's called... they would lose the profit on that.

"Blu Ray accessories for the PC"? Like... what? There are already a multitude of drives and burners available for PCs. They'd license use of BluRay to make drives for the PC platform that they do not control, to provide a product that's already been out for years? That makes zero sense.

This would have been forgotten a lot sooner without the silly explanation. And if Ballmer couldn't follow a discussion about the 360 without getting it confused with PCs, then Microsoft has a much worse problem than a BluRay drive leak...

I don't need luck. HD movies stream perfectly fine on my machine and over WIRELESS.

You talk as if I've never done 1080p video streaming. I still prefer a hard copy, a collection of Blu Ray is always good for me. I also lend them to my relatives/friends. Its really more beneficial than streaming.
