For those who use Skype would be interested to know that Microsoft has plans to release a Skype app for the PS4 in the near future but not right away at launch.

Sony will do this. Why, because it'll force PS4 gamers to buy their PS Eye Camera. LOL!! Microsoft will tell Sony that as well. Wait and see.

Why wouldn't they want Skype on the PS4? People here have to remember Microsoft is a software company first. They need to look at where there revenue comes from and act accordingly.

nsa asked microsoft to spy on ps4 owners too confirmed.

This would be great. Most of my friends plan on getting a PS4, but some want a Xbone, so it would be awesome to chat while we game on separate platforms

Giving full cross system chat is a good thing for everyone, you can quite literally sit in your house in Alaska playing a PS4 game while chatting to your long lost uncle on his Tablet in New Zealand.
