Daumn, double the cpu power, sadly that would still be laughable and inferior to non oc'd sandy bridge i5/i7's from 2011.
But ye on topic not happening.
Don't think this will happen this E3, maybe next year.
This year will be all about choice, buy the game once and play it on any Microsoft platform you want.
Streaming both ways (PC- Xbox One) will be announced.
My Prediction - It will go big on Windows 10 and Xbox One and certain users on this forum will spend hours making stuff up about how the abandoned Xbox One at E3
The one thing I think would be smart is for developers to program console games like PC games with changeable graphics settings so if future console come out that offer backwards compatibility (I don't see them changing from the x86 architecture now) then allow you to play the games with better graphics settings.
You can't expect developers to patch it later. As for Microsoft supporting two consoles at the same time running the same games, did it work for Nintendo hand held consoles? I don't really follow it.
I'm making the prediction right now, MS will announce an updated X1 console. This console will come equipped with a 2TB HD, 16 GB RAM, 4 GB HBM memory, a modified Radeon Fury nano and a CPU with roughly double the performance. The price point will be $499.99.
This will launch later this year with a new Gears game and a super version of Quantum Break and you will need either a high end PC or this upgraded X1 to max them out @ 1080p. Of course if you want to keep your existing X1 then you can still play these games but at low to med settings and 720p.
The cool thing is even if you decide to just buy it for the X1 version, the same game will work for the upgraded X1 if you upgrade in the future only with modified graphics. Also, when you buy those games, you will get the PC version for free. So for example you decide to get the new Gears for the X1. Well then you will get that game plus the PC version for free. Then when you upgrade to the X1 in the future, you can not only play that Gears but your updated X1 will auto detect and you can max the graphics. :o
I think you need to put the crack pipe down cuz. Why would anyone buy a console like that when they could have a genuine pc which the same capabilities graphics wise but can also do much more besides????
Sony would be helpless against this since they're pouring what little cash and resources they have into their crappy VR gimmick which is going to bomb hard
l
Third, SONY can easily counter Microsoft's console with their own custom-designed hardware by the genius Mark Cerny, who single-handedly outsmarted Microsoft's entire engineering team. I guarantee you, if MS decides to play hardball, SONY will outengineer them 10000000000x harder than they did with the PS4. I'm talking about 200 petaflop performance CPU + GPU at only a $600 price point while Microsoft would need to sell consoles at $5 million each to reach that performance.
The only people Mark Cerny has ever outsmarted were Sony's own dumbass fanbase, then again a wet paper napkin could outsmart the Playstation fanbase so that's not much of an accomplishment.
you scream fanboy you realise this right? Just accept it. for this generation, MS has f**ked. No coming for them now. As for VR gimmick... isn't MS working with Oculus and ain't them making their own AR headset (hololens?)
I feel MS are putting WAYYY more money into this "gimmick" you are talking about.... still think its a gimmick?
I can't imagine a console being launched with 4GB of HBM. Not for a while yet. The closest one with a shot at it will be NX. Even then its doubtful. Its just too expensive for mass production like Nintendo needs. I don't think we'll see it in everyday consoles until maybe 2020 or 2025.
Not sure about the specs, but I also think MS will announce Xbox Two this year which will be fully backwards compatible (and Xbox One will be fully forwards compatible for now). Phil Spencer has started the messaging allready. It's happening folks!

Long live redundancy...
My Prediction is MS will have a shitty E3 without real exclusives to carry its now on life support xbox brand.
@cainetao11: Neither company is about to put out a product that loses money. It should be quite obvious to everyone by now that Xbox does not have access to Microsoft's "warchest". At this point Sony is likely spending a lot more on gaming than Microsoft is so overall wealth of two entities is not much of advantage for Xbox at all.
I have the same thoughts. Just because it's a Microsoft-owned brand, doesn't mean it'll get all the $$$ they want/need from Microsoft.
I'm predicting the lamest E3 ever for MS. They'll talk about cross platform, cross play, cross buy. It's going to be a mess.
As opposed to Sony's VR? I will take MSoft all day.
Yeah not excited about VR, but they also have games. Exclusive games.

Why reply to me with your prediction, why not just reply to thread.
Just so we are clear, I have no interest in what you have to say so kindly don't reply to me in future.

Man you are to butthurt relax take a deep breath there is no need to be upset. :)
They won last E3 and followed up with releasing numerous features for gamers through out the year so it wouldn't be surprise if Microsoft continues the campaign on making gaming great again. But I think all eyes will be on Nintendo and see what's their new hardware is all about.

So much delusion in one post.

I asked you nicely to not respond to me and you come back with some childish comment about being butthurt.
I'm perfectly calm, thanks. Your comments have no significance or relevance to me.
Why don't your reply to everyone else's predictions as you might get a rise out of them.
I'm hoping you will stop wasting your time in replying to me but if not I'll just go back to ignoring you.
I can see Ms dropping something large and brown with little bits of corn in it.
Yes on top of Sony :)
When is the last time M$ had a better E3 than Sony? 2006?
If they don't announce new games this E3, then no form of hardware change will matter because there will be nothing to play. No one cares if you can stream Minecraft from PC to Xbox, or cross play with Sony if you have nothing to play! New hardware? For what? To play Hexic and indie games at the same resolution you already can play them at?
Sony and MS both need to get on the game side of things this year or they will see their sales start to drop.
Well, for one: You can only upgrade hardware for so long before it's simply outdated. Unless they have thought of something revolutionary hardware lasts maybe 10 years and then you're hamstrung because it won't be able to support new software innovations or it becomes so slow compared to newer technology that it becomes meaningless or you reach its lifespan and it becomes a liability to the system.
So I can see this being used to provide several options for one or maybe two short console generations. I guess that's cool? I don't really see what value that provides. I guess if you want a more powerful system you could opt for that after checking out a less powerful version...? That seems like a lot of work for not a lot of payoff. I don't understand how this would be something that would sell.
