Until someone explains to me how this will function with any genre other than party this will be my standpoint, even Sony's ripoff had more use.

I am curious to see how it's implemented too. They tried to show how it could be used for a Skating game but that was video hype...I guess we shall see. But I am sure there will be more than party games.Until someone explains to me how this will function with any genre other than party this will be my standpoint, even Sony's ripoff had more use.

Yeah, apparently using feet and hands. I dunno how you have to situate, or how comfortable it is to play liek that though.

Just read that article and i find it hard to believe anyone would play a game like that, that is not true implementation.

How is it not true implementation. Is there such a thing as false implementation?
Isn't it odd that natal can do this? AND it could use the balls on sticks that sony uses? its a simple matter of programming. then you have the fact the balls on sticks sony tech uses old eye toy ps3 camera tech, natal uses much more up to date camera tech.

Its working with a game that wasn't even developed with the camera in mind. You're just trying to make excuses. That is impressive.I could see them make a shooter, the only problem I see is figuring out movement.
shooting - pulling your finger like it's on a trigger.
grenade- throw
aiming- raising your hands up like your lifting to look through a scope.
reloading- droping your hands to your sides.
ducking for cover.

That is impressive.Walking forward to go faster, why can i not see that catching on, and there is not enough space in my room, to use this device, while i can use the excessive 'waggle' controller fine.
voice recognition
face recognition
full body motion capture
the voice recognition alone could be used in so many ways in so many game. imagine a rpg where you cast spell simply by voice no need for clunky menus. or you can call plays in a sports game. sooo many possiblities and thats just one thing it does.

Doesn't support your original post. Again you're simply making excuses for being WRONG.I could see them make a shooter, the only problem I see is figuring out movement.

There is no way this would be accurate enough for that scope idea, and as you say, movement will be an issue, unless they bring out a gun prop or something it is never going to work.

Except this isn't some magic make my dreams reality technology, aiming alone would be impossible in a shooter.Endless possibilities, it's simple to grasp, you can control anything with your body, make your hand your psitol.... I guess people lack creativity and imagination and can't see the use of this technology even though it's so apparent.

dont ignore my post OP admit the voice recognition has potential :cry:darkmagician06Actually voice recognition is the only part i thing has real potential, so long as they don't fall into the trap of only recognising American accents, I can see many uses for this technology, not least the ones you listed.
the burnout stuff would be as bad as using the sixaxis to play a racing game.. ala motorstorm...thetruespinThis is my point, it might even be worse. *shudders*

you do know voice recognition's been around for ages right.....e.g. check out End War it's not exactly cutting edge tech

Yes but it's not been done WELL yet, endwar was awful.Except this isn't some magic make my dreams reality technology, aiming alone would be impossible in a shooter. The Sony rep stated that buttons would be essential to any type of shooting game. It seems that Sony is much closer to current reality and MS is looking way into the future; Maybe next gen.[QUOTE="themyth01"]

natal is extremely limited. How do you play an adventure game with no buttons or directional movement controls? They showed a racing game with gestures as well as a skateboard game, but I think if you break it down they feel like great experiences but the depth is ripped from them to accomplish this. Wiisports was a great game and natal can be like it. Visceral but shallowGunSmith1_basicUmm, you would play it with the traditional controller? This isn't an either or proposition, the two could be used at the same time. Imagine holding the controller, and leaning over while playing an fps to peak around corners. What about flipping your hand up or down to flip a switch? Turning your hand to twist a valve or a doorknob? Throwing an elbow or kick to break a car window in GTA? What about an RPG that plays on your emotions? A punchoutesque game where YOU are little mac? What about a flight sim where you manipulate the instruments? All of which can be used in conjunction with the gamepad or on its own. man, some of you have no imagination.
For a FPS maybe you can use both body motion and the 360 controller. Think about it. Maybe, nah?123Dan123
thing is they wanna get rid of the controller

Oh, sorry i misunderstood. I have no idea, the main reason why i posted this is to show that apparently natal was created for more then just eye toy type gamesI still would rather use the perfection that is the Xbox 360 controller & as long as they are making games without the Natal crap then I'm alright. However, if they start implementing it into all games then I'll being gaming elsewhere, always got my trusty PC.
Has anyone received word from Microsoft as to whether or not the Natal will be implemented this generation or next generation?
As for needing buttons or some kind of movement that only the hands can do, perhaps a new kind of control system, strapped to the wrist or the hand that lets you reach buttons or whatever with flicks of the fingers.
I'm with you on that....praying that this casual crap doesn't kill gaming as I know and love it.I still would rather use the perfection that is the Xbox 360 controller & as long as they are making games without the Natal crap then I'm alright. So how would halo work with NATAL? Wheres the functionality there?Alot of people in here dont have any imagination.Didnt you see how that lady was able to interact with the AI?Voice and facial recognition?Full body movement recognition and control? No,no funtionality there:roll:
