Here's one thing I want next gen.
ONE FRIGGIN SKU! Thats it. ONE!
That is all.

Nope, you've got that backwards, Sony has always succeeded at doing what others do but doing it better.

and motion on the ps3 is great?... name 1 thing sony has stolen and made it better?I like the idea; however, I think their choice in SKU's was poorly made. The HDD should have been standard. The Premium should have included an HD-DVD player/drive, and the Core should have been the same as the current Premium.project343I agree. the prospect of multiple SKUs isn't bad at all, it's how the idea was executed that is flawed..But I really see nothing wrong with attempting to give consumers a choice.

Better is an opinion, copying is a fact there are laws stating copyight. Your statement makes no sense.
Epic fail.

You have an elementary way of looking at technology don't you? Copying is not a fact. Certain features become standard. Their are certain features you cannot copy right, like a hard drive for example, you can't sue someone else for adding a hard drive to their product as well. Pepsi can't sue Coke, sure they both make cola, but not with the same ingredients, but its the same basic product. Many of todays cell phones copy features that other models have in order to compete in the market. This is a very common business practice, and copyrights are reserved for very specific aspects of a product such as name, ingredients, and how products are put together in certain ways.
So it is you that makes zero sense. My statement stands, Sony keeps up in the market by adding features they see on other consoles. They often excel where others failed. Dual shock for example. Two analog sticks instead of one. Thats one good example.
[QUOTE="shoeman12"][QUOTE="Mandingo101"][QUOTE="jlh47"]no kinda like MS withyeah kind of like motion? microsoft is the king of taking things and making them better. sony is the king of outright stealing the product and making it crap.

i wasn't trying to prove ms innovates, in fact i think nintendo innovates i was just trying to prove that sony can't think for itself.
Around the time the 360 launched Sony said multiple versions of consoles was a bad choice by Microsoft.[QUOTE="blizzvalve"]Choices. You don't know what to pick.nyoroism
They said it "confuses the consumer".
Sony was right.
They'll regret not listening to themselves.

Yeah, they were right. I didn't even know the cheap PS3 didn't have BC until today. I was THIIIS close to buying one, too.they have always thought ahead with storage formats in consoles, the standard controller of today is most directly related to dualshock 1 .i hadnt seen hdmi, 1080p and whatnot in other consoles before much less wii, sorry i missed that. eyetoy was probably the first to bring motion based gaming to consoles and the masses. now people are scrambling to get their own version of HOME.i wasn't trying to prove ms innovates, in fact i think nintendo innovates i was just trying to prove that sony can't think for itself.

Re: Bread_or_Decide
There are laws against blatent copying of other people's products. And unwritten laws state that if a product comes out after another product with practically the same design it is a lame imitation. The dualshock is an example of what you said, making things better with old ideas. But sony don't just take "inspiration" from nintendo, they take their philosophy from them. Sony are experienced enough now to know better and get some of their own ideas, all they seem to do is watch the old boys nintendo do what they do best and ride on their bandwagons.
Sony knew they couldn't tap into the same innovative gold mine of the wii, that crossed gaming boundries that until recently were set in stone that old and middle-aged people can't play games. Instead, sony swapped roles with Microsoft and went for the bigger, more powerful machine that comes out later with less games and basically telling people in their adverts that "This is Living" and that you need a £400 BBQ Blu-Ray player. While copying from nintendo in any other way they can (eg. motion thingy magig that is lame).

Maybe they should regret talking so much crap. I doubt if even they believe anything they say.
Remember, rumble was also supposed to be obsolete, now all of a sudden it isn't. BC was important now it isn't...
Not that I believe any of the talking heads from these companies, but really, Sony has done a terrible job of keeping it's foot out of it's mouth.

Name me one lawsuit Nintendo has brought against Sony for copyright infringement.
I'll tell you a story, Bomar Instruments invented the calculator. First company to do it. Texas Instruments copied them and came out with their own calculator, usurped Bomar and mademillions. Improved on their innovation.
Thats just how business works.
[QUOTE="HarlockJC"]the first nes had two SKU
one with ROB the robot
one without
Ontain
ROB was much later on and those would be bundles. the actual NES was the same
ROB debuted with the NES release in 1985. I know, I got one that Christmas with Gyromite. Eventually would get tired of waiting on that piece of crap and just open the gates yourself with the second controller.

Yep. PS3 comes out with HDMI, large HDD, WiFI, and BR DVD player. Then MS makes an Elite with large HDD and HDMI.Then they make all 360's with HDMI. Now they're making a 360 with WiFi and an HD DVD player.
