Microsoft's Multi-Platform Sales Trend Majorly Declining!

Very good read imo. They show how the difference in multiplatform sales between the 360 and PS3 have decreased and are close to 1:1, while there are other games such as Tomb Raider which have begun to sell more on the PS3.

HOWEVER, all the major games like GTA4 where theres a bigger fanbase for will get the 360 version.

I mean, the 360 version outsold the PS3 and PC out of the water and the DLC sold more than they expected on the others.

However, I am surprised RE5 sold more on ps3

games like GTA and Tomb Raider were always played on PS systems for most people so if they have both consoles i bet they got it for PS3 for that reason

This is due to Sony's Europe and Japanese sells. Plus, even though MS now controls the GTA, Tomb Raider, DMC, etc. etc. franchises they are still seen as Sony games.

This is of no suprise, there are 21 millions PS3s out there. Thats a significant enough number for the 1-1 ratio.

Most PS3 owners I know wouldn't step foot inside gamestop to be honest. Why would anyone shop there or any retail store when amazon.com often has free shipping and often discounts games to $53.99 within days of release? I buy all my games from amazon, tbqh.

I think the same could be said for both consoles. I'm certainyl not going into a games store and only picking up FIFA or Medal of Honour. I think your statement is horribly generalized and your games shop =/= the PS3 gaming community.

Obvious reason is obvious.

Simple math seems elusive to so many. Proportionality.

When h/w sales were 2:1 (360 14M vs PS3 7M) the ratio of games sold on the 360 vs PS3 was higher....shocking.

Now that h/w sales are 1.3:1 (360 28M vs PS3 21M) the ratio of games sold on the 360 vs PS3 is lower....shocking.

I wonder whatever could be driving this?:shock:

What the hell are you talking about? How can Microsoft own a multiplat? Are you talking about their version of the multiplat? :?

I have actually changed my buying habits after my 360 RRoD'ed on me. I have been picking up multiplats on my PS3 lately. I will just use my "fixed" 360 for exclusives...which means it wont get used that much this year.

Rockstar just recently said it was a 50/50 split for GTA4....despite the DLC on one platform.
