How is it that you can post so many words without a single one of them being true? Tell us, please.
You are over estimating.
The PS3 is still a great machine, there is a very solid library developing, still lots of brand value and an inevitable price drop. Sony has cratered from last gen but it has stabilized now and won't be disappearing.
Wii is still unstoppable. They are going to be dropping some megaton games soon that will sell like hotcakes and motion plus will easily keep them in the game.
360 has some great games coming up. Natal looks interesting, but you are talking 2 years before you have much of a library built for its use. MS will continue to be a solid player and in the game, battling it out with Sony over the half of the market the Wii doesn't have.
Where the generation ends isn't going to be much different from where we are now.

It doesn't have to be this generation. What victory? Victory for second place I presume.siLVURcrossNatal will make Ninty it's (you know the rest)

Xbl has superior online gaming in the CONSOLE arena.Michael324Not necessarily, Sony is a massive company and has a loyal fanbase in Europe, US and especially Japan. Look at the new Final Fantasy, why is this not being released in Japan on Xbox 360? Why doe's the Xbox 360 regularly sell less than the PS2 in Japan? Exclusives wise who has Ghostbusters before Microsoft, who has Agent exclusivity? Hideo Kojima even looked like he felt like a traitor at the E3 Microsoft conference. I see Microsoft as having the edge but Sony will be here for years to come especially as they have realized thay have to look after their biggest customers......core gamers.
Why the hell does it matter??? At the end of the day all three consoles have great titles available and all have something to offer. I would absoloutley hate it if there was only one format for gaming, it would take away the competition and prices would end up sky rocketing because there would be no other options.
The 360 is definatley an excellent machine with some top quality titles but then the PS3 has got it's own share of exclusives and a great range of games. I don't own a Wii but again it has some unique and excellent titles though I do think the Wii is aimed at a different market to the PS3 and the 360.
I really can't understand people who only support one system, it just makes no sense I mean ok if you can only afford one and you have to decide then I suppose it comes down to which system you feel will best cater fot you but even then there is no need to rubbish the other machines.
Anyway if this new OnLive thing really works then I think could erradicate the need for games consoles completely.

Yet E3 should that devs still have interest in making exclusive games for Sony and Nintendo.
I agree, unreleased tech that is currently having problems responded to skin pigment is far better than what Nintnedo has to offer.
True enough..last year, but even then, it still hasn't propelled the 360 to first place.
True, but how does that explain why the 360 is in second instead of first?
I guess that explains why the Wii has still been outselling the 360, even with the arcade $50 cheaper.
Last gen and this gen has both proven that online is the key factor to winning.

Well if it doesn't have to be this generation, then what is the point? Really, where do you draw the line? Is it next next gen or next next next gen?
I'll tell you, if there is no determined timeframe...just loosey goosey whenever....then forget MS, or Sony or the big N. It'll be a Chinese company for sure...or maybe an Indian company, since the scale of those two countries createsa certain inevitability for all businesses.
I don't see it happening as long as Sony and Nintendo stick around to be honest. They will still do well, of course but I don't ever see them winning.Floppy_JimWho could have predicted that Ninty would come out from behind and be #1 this gen?

Sony rushed out a motion controller just as fast as MS did. That was a knee jerk reaction, I do welcome motion control and casual gaming. However I feel that both Sony and Microsoft will definately struggle compared to Ninty as they lack the creativity inhouse for those sort of projects and third party developers have never really made good use of motion control on the Wii. I am also skeptical about natal after that weird looking bloke trying to show the bottom of his avatars shoe and the glowingsex toysin Sonys presentation.
You will eat those words buy the end of this Gen TC. We have five more years and Sony will be number one even surpassing Nintendo.Mark my words MS will finish dead last were it belongs.djsifer01Unbiased huh?
... That's a good point. You just listed all of the reasons why MS is not going to be ahead. Like PC, taking exclusives (cant think of anything on their own), and if Sony goes down ( no more exclusives for ms to take).

If Sony does go down that will leave Nintendo to battle with. Mario, Zelda, and Pikmin arent enough to take down MS.You just listed all of the reasons why MS is not going to be ahead. I like all three consoles but for me i think the PS3 is the best consloe out there. I honestly dont see them in last place by the end of this Gen. You never know i could be right. If someone was ripping the 360 i would deffend it too.
MS makes more money every minute than what Sony or Nintendo make in a day. They have a lot of money to throw around, which is why I see MS dominating in the future.123Dan123If their gaming market isnt making profit then them or anyone can drop out. Confusing MS as the whole company with what it does via gaming is a mistake.

In that case, watch out for Sony.... and Microsoft has already put sooooo much money into their gaming division that I don't see them stopping it any time soon, even if it does stagnate for a while.
Obviously you're missing the 50 million wiis sold to the 360s 30. There is no way the 360 will suddenly get enough sales to beat the wii. Also you're over rating natal WAY too much. The wii motion plus is a lot better than natal because it doesn't have near and many bugs and glitches, and it also doesn't have as much lag.
[QUOTE="SUD123456"]It doesn't have to be this generation.Microsoft said they were thinking of the 360 running till about 1015. By then the next nintendo system will already be out with better graphics than the 360 and better motion controls (iwata mentioned they'll match up the systems graphics next gen with the other systems next systems about a year ago and miyamoto said they already new about the technology for motion controls sony and microsoft are using for their system and they're working on even more advanced technology). You are over estimating.

MS making profit from Live fees. They boast about it. Well not the money, but the accounts. Sonys making out from the Ps2's. So to you "Cut your losses" is a term MS doesn't know? I agree that term isn't in the US dictionary. But Microsofts? I think they are well aware of it.You will eat those words buy the end of this Gen TC. I agree that term isn't in the US dictionary. But Microsofts? I think they are well aware of it.Although I don't see any of the big three going down, I mentioned Sony because, for a long time (it seems the tide might be changing for them) they have been losing money from their gaming division, and a lot of it, while Microsoft has been seing some good profits recently, which tells the higherups that they can make a good deal of money from it even though it seems Microsoft might start to be losing a little from their gaming division. I didn't say that Microsoft doesn't know the term cutting their losses either, I said they have already invested a lot of money into, which makes them a lot more likely to stay in the market if they hadn't invested as much.
I don't see this an inevitable. And I hope it's not.To dateMS's sole contribution to gaming has been: Halo, Xbox Live, paying for timed exclusivity.Of courseI'm sure I'm leaving good stuff out but they haven't really advanced gaming in any meaninful way.
While I prefer PS3 hardware and games, it's clear that they've pantsed Sony from a business perspective and are reaping the royalties. I don't see them going away and I think they start next generation on equal footing. I just see Nintendo and Sony going further to deliver great games and really sticking their neck out. MS seems content to soak up 3rd party support and pay for timed exclusive content. Seems lazy to me. For gaming sake I hope that we always have some competition to keeping pushing the marker.

I could somewhat see it if it were holding steady, not gaining but not losing ground. It would be a stretch, but I could even see it to a miniscule extent if it were still falling behind, but by an ever decreasing extent. BUT TO NOT JUST BELIEVE IT WILL BEAT THE WII, BUT TO PUBLICLY TRUMPET IT WHEN IT CAN'T PROTECT ITSELF FROM GETTING JOLLYSTOMPED MONTHLY IS SIMPLY INSANE.
