[QUOTE="dahwnpapaya"]tech demos cant be lame?Wasn't it a tech demo?
SerpentX541
It can, but I'd wait to see it actually implemented it games before I call it lame, but thats just my opinion.
lol so true.Me: Milo, what's the meaning of life?
Milo: ERROR ERROR! SELF DESTRUCTION IN PROCESS.

I have a feeling this is going to be rediculously overhyped for what can be done. I refuse to believe anything by the developer of Fable 2 will be even remotely decent.
[QUOTE="dahwnpapaya"]tech demos cant be lame? They can't be compared to things that're supposed to be released to a wide audience like Home. If something is just as useless as a tech demo, but it's supposed to actually be go into the average consumer's hands, it's pretty damn lame. Home and NXE are wonderful examples of this happening.Wasn't it a tech demo?

The only person I see that would really love this is Micheal Jackson...I mean, who wouldn't love interacting with a 12 year old boy??
It's just a tech demo showing possibilities. The fact is, I think it would have had to have been incredibly scripted, in order for the responses to be accurate.
If the technology advances enough, and our understanding of creating AI that can interact, proceeds, we could see a big jump in games.
its a freakin tech demo. Tech demos are there for, you guessed it, demoing the technology. I think the technology is interesting and could be very useful for RPGs etc. Imagine Mass Effect 3 where you say the lines instead of selecting them, and the inflection in your voice determines if the person reacts positively or negatively towards you. Or imagine you commanding your squad and issuing commands and them deciding whether or not to follow your commands because they are setting them up for failure, but issuing the same command could get them to override their feelings if they noticed the inflection in your voice and your facial expressions meant you were serious.lhugheyTHAT would be sick!8)
The tech demo helped show what the potential of Milo is, but i think it will be alot more important next gen. If the controls are really that perfect now in a couple years i could imagine myself playing Rainbow Six Vegas 4 with just my hands in the form of a gun, and voice command my teammates, and perform climbing overwalls, and throw back enemy grenades. How sweet does that sound?
So what you are saying is
"I'm a fanboy of anohter console and really need to find something to knock about MS's conference since I am in full damage control mode. Milo seems like the easiest target since gadgets are easy to knock, even if it's going to sell a ton. Let's do that".
Make milo a creepy little girl in a silent hill game and we have a crap inducing game already. You know, I look at Milo and boy is it LAME.
But I tell ya, you take those concepts and make a horror game out of it, with right producer, i bet it could make people crap their pants.
flazzle
On a posative note, while this is stupid now i am actually very excited for this technology. Imagine it being implemented into a game like oblivion where characters you talk to react realisticly with how your facial expressions are or what you say, no more 4 options you pick from, its dynamic. Wont happen in that large of a scale in a good 5 - 10 years but i can dream. Also for consoles i think it would be stupid unless it can recognize you from farther away, i dont want to be standing up to use this thing for a real game, for a PC it would be perfect, just implement it on webcams and it will be gaming magic.
I agree. It's new. The first few games will probably be crap and i don't envy Peter Milleau at all. But it's the technology that's the kicker and you know MS is going to have it in full effect. They already had quite a bit of stuff to show even though it's a ways away. That's mroe than Sony can say about the ps3 when they first announced it. They had more than ducks in a bathtub. "Sea Battles" lol. Nice going Siaxis. They had some fairly innovative stuff already.
Wow is it Sony Fanboy night or what!

Oh atarigrad, let's look at some fish in the water.

"Hey Milo, come here and touch this. Pull it up and down, its fun!" "Hey Milo, if you show me yours I'll show you mine!" "Hey Milo, Michael Jackson is here to play with you!"MGS4-SS
