what is the point of milo? is this a game for xbox gamers who have no RL friends, so they talk to a AI name Milo? i dont know why ppl are hyped about milo, but it seems kinda of gheyish to me. its kinda of like having a imaginary friend, but on tv.

That was exactly what I was thinking. I thought it was something for kids who have social problems or awkwardness.
It was a tech demo, not a real game. It was a great showcase of how far voice recognition and AI has come. You have to think outside of the gaming box for this one. It has way more implications.
He supposedly has better AI then your real friends so he's better.OreoMilkshake
LOLOLL! Seriously, I can't stop laughing at this! LOLOL!!
EDIT: Seriously, best post of the month! LOLOOLOL!!!
Milo could revolutionize RPGs or any genre where you do alot of talking to advance the story. Milo + Team Ico and you guys would be crapping your pants.Senor_KamiYea I would be crapping my pants. Because of how horrible a combination that'd turn out.

LOOOL! I can't stop laughing!! LOLOL!! Post of the month!!
Milo is a technical demonstration into what is possible with NATAL. Its not meant to be a game, but an idea that could possibly be made into one.
I nominate this guy for System Wars Post of the Year.He supposedly has better AI than your real friends so he's better.

OK, let's nip this in the bud now...
Milo is not a game. It's a tech demo. It was only meant to show you what is possible.
The software does not go out to developers until Monday, and most likely you will not see anything until the start of spring (unless the rush out some Wii-like crap for Christmas).
It's just the start. It's not all what this thing can do. But it is wierd to talk (out loud) to your tv like its your friend.-- But this is only the beginning.what is the point of milo? is this a game for xbox gamers who have no RL friends, so they talk to a AI name Milo? i dont know why ppl are hyped about milo, but it seems kinda of gheyish to me. its kinda of like having a imaginary friend, but on tv.

It reminded me of Seaman for Dreamcast. There really seems no point to a game like this unless they add ACHIEVEMENTS!!
Basically, Yes. :lol:what is the point of milo? is this a game for xbox gamers who have no RL friends, so they talk to a AI name Milo? i dont know why ppl are hyped about milo, but it seems kinda of gheyish to me. its kinda of like having a imaginary friend, but on tv.

Is it because you find the statement very applicable to you? ;)I dunno if its an actual game really although I guess it could be. To me itseemed like itwas more of a tech demo for what the Natal camera could do. Anyway I think it could be pretty cool to have that kinda interaction with characters in a RPG though.

I thought the same thing. The idea if implemented well is a definite bonus for 360 owners. As for people using that instead of having friends, better to talk to Milo than to the voices in my head that tell me to start fires:twisted:
I love how when something really impressive and potentially revolutionary for gaming(that could indeed make its way into all the consoles) comes along that looks to be able to provide deeper and more immerive gaming worlds, all we get is "looks gay "pedobear", or "I don't want to run to move my game characters" (ignoring the fact completely that the controllers we all use will *still work just fine with the camera system*). No wonder why people look down on gamers when everyone is so scared of change.
I should have known something was up when everyone went agoraphobic with the whole "casuals ruining everything" whining that went on, but whatever...

I'm curious if it's possible to "break" Milo as I did with SmarterChild and Wilma on Windows Live.siLVURcrossYes, I am sure you could, as computer programs are made by people, and are fallible.
Milo is a true friend thatloves you and will never threaten to harm you. In the case that he does, we assure you that he can cause you no harm. Even still,we reccomend keeping all sharp objects away from the TV set so he doesn't get any ideas.
All this Milo talk is making me think of that Mega Man show, where they had AI's in handhelds that they spoke with.

I dunno, no one knows WHAT Milo says once the cameras are turned off. ;P
