I just skimmed the article but where does it say Microsoft will be out of the OS buisness ?
they are preparing for that day, it also say one day it will when the Midori os is ready".......an incubation project code-named Midori, which seeks to create a componentized non- Windows OS"
Do you read articles or do you just skim through them?

The whole article is about how Microsoft is developing a new platform to replace Windows when technology reaches a point whereby a traditional OS like Windows simply doesnt work any more, ie is obsolete.
Therefore, they are preparing for that day when the standard OS as we know it isn't what people want, by making a new web-based OS. Thus, you saying they're preparing to be out of the OS business is just... wrong. They're not doing that at all.
They're preparing to very-much remain in it.

Seriously, this is not a matter of opinion. That article says Microsoft is preparing to replace it's traditional hardware/software OS (Windows) with a web-based OS currently called Midori, when in the not-too-distant future, traditional OSs like Windows are obsolete.
They are therefore planning ahead with a NEW os to continue to compete well into the future in the OS business. Your interpretation that they will soon be OUT of said business, is therefore entirely wrong.
Midori is Microsoft's successor to Windows man...
Its been in development for a long time, and will be even longer until it is mainstream. Microsoft kept the simpler versions of windows out even when NT was released. It took until Windows 2000 for NT to become mainstream and accepted.
Midori > Windows 7 > Windows Vista
Microsoft is nowhere near out of the OS business.

You really, really need to learn to read.
They're SPECIFICALLY talking about how the concept behind the Windows OS is going to become irrelevant, and that they're already working on the next paradigm shift (god, I hate ussing these buzzwords) in the OS market, in order to stay relevant.
MS is not going to get out of the OS market. They're trying to either revolutionize it or at least be well armed so they're not the first against the wall when the revolution comes.
Reading is your friend, why do you ignore him so? He just wants to help you.

yup there last oneNo, the Windows platform is dieing. Windows Vista was supposed to be a complete rewrite of the platform, but it was too much work.
Windows 7 will be the last Windows OS.
Midori is a completely new, from the ground up, totally fresh OS that is being built by Microsoft to replace the Windows line.

yup there last one... Midori. Midori, the gorram focus of the article, is a new OS. Made by Microsoft.
I must ask you a question, in all honesty: Are you intentionally trolling? 'Cause I can't think of any other explanation.
