General Info
Mirror's Edge is a first-person action game developed by DICE and published by EA. It is due for release on the PS3 / 360 on November 11 in the US, and November 14 in the EU. The PC version of this game is not expected until 2009.
Mirror's Edge was developed in Unreal Engine 3, and features a unique "HUD free" design. Unlike many other first-person games, the player's full body is visible on screen. The gameplay of Mirror's Edge is heavily influenced by parkour, and emphasizes environmental interaction. Players will have to run, jump, slide, and climb over a variety of urban terrain to reach their goals.
Overview
In Mirror's Edge the player takes control of Faith, a foot courier who runs packages across the rooftops of the gleaming city. The game takes its title from this glistening landscape, as the player walks the line between the sparkling skyscrappers (the mirror) and the urban decay below.
The city of Mirror's Edge is controlled by a totalitarian government, a regime which monitors all communications, and controls all aspects of life. The game begins with the kidnapping of Faith's sister. Faith, with help from her mentor, Mercury, must now find and rescue her sister from the clutches of the government overlords.
