You all know the hate I spew at the PS3, but on the real, I believe this very well might be the first AAAE for the PS3. Please refrain from flaming, and remember, you love your neighbors.Reyes360
i really dont know what AAAE means, but im jsut going to guess it has to be along the lines as a 9.5 PS3 exclusive.
I dunno, i still got my money on MGS, Final Fantasy, LBP, Killzone, or Resistance

AAAE means its a game thats ONLY on that console so Halo 3 is a 360 AAAE while CoD4 is a AAA because its on multiple platforms.i agree, but a lot of people wont consider it PS3 exclusive because its also on PS2 and PSP. Despite the PS3 version having more features than its PS2 counterpart Broman6015Yeah, it has some more features, but its stuff like quick save and custom soundtracks, nothing that really changes the core gameplay. It has even less reason to be counted as an exclusive than NGS.

less reason? i dont think so. NGS is a "glorified" port of a game that appeared on the xbox last gen. MLB 08 The Show is at least a Sony exclusive game. Big difference
It really does, Ive kept up with all the info thats been released on the game the devs really put in a lot of effort into this game....
It can possibly be the first AAA sports title on GS this gen.

The argument isn't if it's a Sony exclusive, its if its a PS3 exclusive. NGS had extra levels and extra weapons on top of what was offered in NGB, even more exclusive content than is being offered in the PS3 version of MLB 08 The Show, and that wasn't enough to get NGS AAAE status. That's what I'm saying.I wonder what will you classifty as a different game? The game features in mlb 08 the show are so radically more then the ps2 version that it should be considered an exclusive. Is mlb 06 the show the same as mlb07 the show? Yes, gameplay wise. And so will mlb 08 the show. Except the mlb 08 the show, similar to mlb 07 the show will feature tons more features then the other versions, makign it better, and should be considered an exclusive. Because it has the same name as another game, and because IT IS A BASEBALL game, should not be represented by the score. That would be basically saying all the nba games are the same (while nba 08 sucks, and nba 2k8 is amazing).
Though i don't know much about this game, it is also coming out for the PSP and PS2; isn't it? Therefore it is not an exclusive.
Afterall, Twilight Princess is not considered exclusive. Neither are many of the virtual console games(which have only, legally, appeared on nintendo's consoles before).

what happens if the PS3 version scores AAA and the other two dont?

Then the PS3 is home to the best version?
Unless it is a radically different game(see GRAW 360 vs PC), it's a multiplat.
Seriously? One of the reasons you use to justify this being a different game is because you can "watch the fans do the wave, play with volleyballs, and other things"? Unbelievable. The only thing of note I see is a somewhat more fleshed out Road to the Show mode. That's it. It's not even an entirely unique mode. Everything else is simply peripheral to the game, additions to the existing frame of a game to make it better, but not make it new or different. More statistical analysis? Better graphics and animation? In game MLB scores? Neat stuff, but those do not a different game make. EDIT: Just so we avoid any confusion, I mean different game as in the PS3 version of MLB 08 is significantly different from the PS2 or PSP version, not that MLB 08 is the same as MLB 07.I wonder what will you classifty as a different game? - deeper and more immersive Road to the Show mode, including:
- New career advancements
- New career goals
- Position-specific situations
- A new Progressive Batting Performance feature which rewards players for consistent hitting, and conversely penalizes them for prolonged slumps.
- Improved online play with the newly introduced SCOUT (or "SportsConnect Online User Tracking") feature, which allows users to save personalized game settings and use those settings to quickly find online opponents.
- Pitcher/Batter analysis both during and after games, including information about batter performance against a certain pitcher, various pitches and even the results of each pitch. (PS3 and PSP only)
- Replay Vault (allows you to make your own high reel, see every play that occured, and among other things)
- Significantly improved graphics, animations, and ai
- In game Mlb scores while playign
- Crowd Interaction watch the fans do the wave, play with volleyballs, and other things
its not, when did any of the previous ones get that high?
SPorts games wont hit AAA for awhile.
Look at Madden 08 and NFL 08. Both added a ton of features, played extremely well, and showed EA is back to form, but still only got 8.5 each. jg4xchamp
Madden 08 was overrated because people lowered their standards after the first two current gen games. I personally rated Madden this year a 8.0, it wasnt close to being a AAA title.
[QUOTE="Gh0st_Of_0nyx"]wasnt there a thread like this a couple days ago ? :?Reyes360
dont know i was serving a suspension...
Probably should serve another just for making this thread.
Not a exclusive since it going on the PS2 and PSP too.Wanderer5
Oh, come now.
You know how many games Nintendo has exclusive that it ports from system to system. Same thing.
It's a Playstation exclusive, and furthermore the PS3 version would be far different.
I don't think a Baseball game will change people's mind though.

when did i say it was a AAA game. It was a great football game. IT improved the madden gameplay, its just so many other things need to be fixed like online franchise, more depth back in owner mode, less fumbles, better oline AI, etc[QUOTE="Wanderer5"]Not a exclusive since it going on the PS2 and PSP too.SolidTy

So then, Paper Mario and Super Mario Bros 3 are two more Wii AAA exclusive games just because they've only ever appeared(legally) on nintendo's systems?
Whenever a nintendo "ports" a game from one system to the next, it's never considered an exclusive. The revamped Super Mario Bros 3 for the gameboy advance was not exclusive. Just like Ninja gaiden sigma was not exclusive. Also, as another example of a nintendo exclusive not being a wii exclusive: Twilight Princess.
There's a huge difference between a franchise being exclusive and a particular game on a particular system being exclusive. That is to say, there is a difference between a franchise being sony exclusive and a game being playstation 3 exclusive. For it to be PS3 exclusive game, it must only be playable on the PS3.
As i said earlier, if the PS3 version is vastly different, it may be considered exclusive. But a couple more features and prettier graphics don't change the fact that it is multiplat(see resident evil 4 wii edition, Twilight Princess, and Ninja Gaiden Sigma).
The sad thing is if somehow MLB miraculously get an AAAE from gamespot, it won't have AAAE sales. But I doubt it'll be AAAE. I hope I'm wrong.

First off AAAE sales?lol that made me laugh, second its a baseball game, Im not sure if you know this but baseball games dont sale amazingly well.....I dont even think MLB 2K7 broke the 1 million mark on the 360.
The Show will be a great game, like its predecessors, maybe even AAA. It is sony exclusive. It will NOT sell systems. Those who get it wont care because theyll be having too much fun playing one of the best sports game franchises ever.
Also Mlb 2k7 probably didnt sell well cuz it was a bad game, just a thought...
