Whoever does these games should get their hands on football, basketball, and hand egg EzioTheEagIeAre you implying that people who play FPS games should also get their hands on a gun, hand grenade, and C4?
[QUOTE="Messiahbolical-"]Using the GRAW argument that lemmings like to use, this game is clearly exclusive. Only hardcore lemmings try to argue otherwise. Reviews are popping up on sites and I haven't seen it get a review lower than 90/100 yet. But what will GS give it? Apparently the game is a significant improvement over last year's edition. Will it get AAAE? AAAE? AAE? AE? or lower? Predict what score it gets in this thread.KennysolidsnakeIts already been made official that it will be considered a exclusive for the PS3, someone posted the official thread pointing out the differences of the versions a couple weeks ago. The question is will it be AAE or AAAE, i definatley think it will score 9.5 and make it another AAAE for PS3 Yeah that was me, but I think it will be in the 8.5-9.0 range. 9.5 seems like too much.
[QUOTE="EzioTheEagIe"]Whoever does these games should get their hands on football, basketball, and hand egg Messiahbolical-Are you implying that people who play FPS games should also get their hands on a gun, hand grenade, and C4? I think he meant the people who make MLB The Show (Sony San Diego) should make a football game and basketball game.
Who actually is enjoying these.....I feel like these are mostly brownie points here. And the latest version completely invalidates the one before. As far as the AAA/etc. tally, I feel like this series completely nerfs the point. Equating a yearly game like this to Alan Wake, Halo, Final Fantasy, God of War, etc. is a shame. ImageChefI think there's quite a few people who love the show. It's such a great game a lot of people who don't even like baseball like it. But I agree with sports games when a new one comes out the previous is pretty irrelevant.
I think so. And I like it. I think it'll average AAAE over at Metacritic, and God of War III will most definitely, and if it does it'll push it straight over both the Wii and 360 in AAAE counts.
Don't have much interest, it'll just be good for score wars :P.
9.0, and Casey(mod here) consider it to be a PS3 exclusive.

And since when did one person make the rules for this place? What if I get another mod that says **** casey! it's multiplat! Does that mean its not exclusive then? We have debates and decide as a community. What usually happens.
And for the love of god quite bringing up GRAW. They are 2 totally different games. You fanboys need to drop that **** already. It's beyond ****ing old. If you can't take the time or can't comprehend the difference between the 2 then there's no help for you.
I know there's major differences in the way the game plays and looks, but if Dead Rising lost is exclusivity with the Wii version why should you get this? Why not make Tiger Woods '09 for the Wii exclusive then since its different than the other? If you give every game the exclusive tag because it has a lot of added features, but doesn't change the overall feel of the game, then I move to count every PC game as exclusive! With time and mods and such EVERY game will play better on the PC, and with mods you can do pretty much anything and everything. So if were going a baseball game with the same gameplay with a lot of added features I say be fair and do the same for EVERY PC game then.

For comparison's sake, I've compiled the list of differences for MLB 10 The Show, as listed in the Fact Sheet for the game, into a similar format to mitu's GRAW analysis, fitting the bullet points where I thought best suited.
---------
GRAW
Genre:360 version is a solid paced TPS while the PC version is a slow paced FPS. The 360 version plays more like Ghost Recon 2 while the PC version plays more like the original Ghost Recon, and I played the 1st 2 Ghost Recons and they aren't alike, I'm such a Ghost Recon fan, LOL.
Multiplayer:
360-Has 16 players and 10 modes: Team Elimination, Team Territory, Team Objective, Solo Elimination, Solo Territory, Solo Objective, Co-op Campaign separate from the main campaign, Co-op Elimination, Co-op Territory, Co-op Objective. There's more options to chose from than the PC version and more ways to customize your soldiers.
PC-Has 32 players and 2 modes: Co-op campaign for the main campaign(you'll need it) and Domination. And it doesn't have a lot of options either.
Campaign differences-Different level designs(PC version's missions are much bigger and more wide open than the 360's smaller and linear levels), mission objectives that while some are the same even though they are done differently due to the level design, a lot are different and even removed from one version while adding another, enemies are placed at different spots and altered(one certain spot could have a sniper in one version and the other could have a enemy with a rocket launcher). The PC version is much harder and more tactical than the 360 version. The 360 version has more music, the PC has a lot less, a lot of it repeats itself. Certain missions are removed from 1 version while added to another(for example, as soon as you start both games, you'll notice that the 360 version has a training mission while the PC version doesn't). In short, 360 version has more objectives for each mission along with single player only missions and sections while the PC version has less but are done differently from the 360 version thanks to the level design.
Gameplay differences:
360-You control 3 other teammates at the same time. You can tell them to be aggressive to attack more fiercely. They listen to your orders very well. There's a cover system to use. There's no sprint like the PC version since you are always running. You have to hold the L button to aim well. You can use tanks and gadgets. You can switch different teammates. There are on rails sections. Ability to revive teammates and even command a member to revive a teammate.
PC-You can control 3 other teammates at the same time or individually. You can never tell them to be aggressive. They don't follow certain orders well. You have a sprint button, and you'll need it to move as fast as the 360 version since you always walk slow. The lack of cover due to the view is made up for a lean n peak. You can't use certain gadgets that the 360 version has, and no real tank support. You can't switch different teammates, you're stuck with the same 3 idiots. No on rails section. No ability to revive teammates.

MLB 10 The Show
Genre:
MLB 10 The Show is a baseball game on all platforms. However if genre was the delineating factor to determine whether games are the same then every Madden would count as a single game.
In terms of something analogous to a difference between a TPS and FPS, the introduction of the Real Time Presentation perspective could be considered.
Real-Time Presentations (PS3)– MLB 10 The Show has boosted the number of overall animations by capturing more than 1,250 new gameplay animations, more than 1,000 new presentation animations, and more than 400 personalized pitcher and batter animations. To accompany this upgraded experience, The Show introduces a new broadcast camera for fielding that will make you feel like you're watching a live telecast.
Multiplayer:
Full Online Season Leagues (PS3)– Along with improvements to the traditional online leagues, MLB 10 The Show will offer fully functional online season leagues! The new online season leagues will save and display MLB Player stats, track player energy, allow for trades/injuries, and offer 40-man roster functionality.
· Weekly Live Roster – An updated live roster will be available every week throughout the entire season. Included in the update will be all roster changes, addition of new MLB players (with correct attributes), and player attribute updates to reflect hot and cold streaks.
· Online Game History– MLB 10 The Show now offers the ability to view every game you've ever played online, complete with opponents, box scores, and game logs.
· 1-30 Player Season Modes (PS3) – Because roster control is an integral part of Franchise Mode, giving the user the ability to control one or all 30 teams is now essential to the mode. To do this, the user has the option to select how many teams (or all teams) they wish to control right from the start of their franchise or season.Online Gameplay Improvements (PS3)– This year, the online gameplay experience has been improved a great deal as the game will detect and respond better to adverse network conditions along with reduced bandwidth to help the speed and flow of online gameplay.
Campaign differences:
The Show is a simulation rather than a story-driven game, however these could be considered analogous to things like mission objectives, maps, music. Some of the things I've placed in here would overlap into "gameplay differences" as well and vice versa.
Road to The Show Version 4.0 (PS3)– Road to The Show (RTTS) 4.0 features the additions of two new option settings; RTTS Game Watch and RTTS Game Completion, that allow users to set how much of the game they wish to view. With settings of All Pitches, All Fielding, Result Play, and Off, user's will have the choice to view every pitch of the entire game, or trim the viewing down to just the result pitch. Users will now start their career in AA and will have to earn their spot in Spring Training. In order to enforce good fundamental baseball, two new systems have been implemented. The first is a mistake tracking system that will keep tabs on how users play the game and will penalize for throwing to the wrong base, not covering the right base for the out, etc. The second feature is a new Green Light system that has been implemented to reward good base stealing and penalize those that shouldn't be stealing. If a user continues to steal once the green light has been revoked, their playing time will diminish. Once revoked, users will have to improve their speed and base running ability in order to regain the green light. Finally, there is a new stat tracking system that keeps stats for your player's career versus every pitcher or batter faced during the current season that can be accessed at any time.
New Fielding and Pitching Training Modes/Practice Drills (PS3)– In MLB 10 The Show users will have the ability to choose from two new interactive training/practice modes. The additions of pitching and fielding training sessions round out the Road to The Show training suite. Fielding training will consist of two types of training –focus on the user's throwing with the new throw meter and focus on a combination of throwing and decision-making. Pitching training will have two options—Knockout and Simulated Game, both focusing on control and accuracy, with goals provided for each session. These training modes will extend to practice modes for both fielding and pitching and are a perfect way to polish and improve your baseball skills in The Show!
All-Star Break (includes Home Run Derby® and MLB® All-Star Futures Game™ ) (PS3)– The long-awaited return of Home Run Derby will take place in MLB 10 The Show for PS3. Fully implemented in our season modes and available as a stand-alone mode, Home Run Derby follows the MLB rules and flow. The MLB® All-Star Futures Game™ will also be available within season modes in its correct timeframe (just before the HR Derby). See if your Road to The Show player is invited to either the Home Run Derby or the Futures Game! (Note: Home Run Derby is a feature of the PSP game)
New Stadiums (PS3) – MLB 10 The Show will offer 11 new stadiums. In addition to all current MLB stadiums, five new Minor League venues are available, as well as clas sic parks now be available on the PS3 for the first time. The clas sic stadiums include Forbes Field, Crosley Field, Polo Grounds, Shibe Park, Sportsman Park, and Griffith Stadium.
Gameplay differences:
Catcher Calling the Game (PS3) – The catcher will play a bigger role in season modes, Road to The Show, and exhibition games. The catcher will give a sequence of signs and users will have the ability to change their indicator. Specifically for Road to The Show, the feature will allow a catcher to calling the game. This feature will give a new level of control to the catcher where he will have responsibility to select pitches and position himself to block balls that are in the dirt or wild.
User Controlled Pick-offs (PS3)– Want to surprise a base runner with a quick move or lull him to sleep? The new pickoff mechanism will now allow users to choose from a quick, casual, or deceptive pick-off type. In exhibition, season, and Road to The Show modes, you have the ability to decide which move you want to make as a pitcher. As a base runner in Road to The Show you now have to pick up on the pitcher's move or get thrown out leaning!
Other:
Stadium Realism and Experience (PS3) – As the leading MLB experience, MLB 10 The Show takes pride in the details offering daytime transitional lighting, similar to our day to night transitional lighting. Notice the sun position and length of shadows as the 1:00pm first pitch reaches the afternoon. All players on field will be shown in real-time; this goes for dugout and bullpen players. Not to be outdone, stadium ambiance will be improved with the addition of HR/splash counters, fireworks, steam, noisemakers, towels, thunder sticks, working digital and analog clocks, crowd reaching over the rails, and crowd detail, such as interaction with vendors and placing K signs.
Movie Maker (PS3)– Newly added is the Movie Maker menu within the Pause Menu. This will give the user the ability to select up to ten replays to add to a single movie and do all their editing from this menu. The user will now be able to start recording their movie on a newly created timeline and then pause their movie, choosing different camera angles of their plays.
Replays to Hard Drive via Replay Vault (PS3) – Store highlight reel replays to your PS3 hard drive as a movie file, and enjoy the ability to playback clips at your leisure.Additionally, players can access an "end of game" replay to see the most exciting and important plays of the game.
----------
Ultimately the powers that be will determine the status of the game though, I guess.
It really shouldn't matter either way, but having this information here will hopefully aid in any decision made.

I honestly doubt the true interest in this game. It's great for people who like baseball games no doubt, but here it's more so just a score. And again, I don't see why the Show should count as multiple AAAs. If the Ps3 ended up with, just say, 7AAAes when all were the Show from the 7 years, does that really compare to 7 unique AAAs? I'm not saying if Killzone 3 comes out and scores AAA we shouldn't count that, but we should if it's just an update of the old games, having the same maps, campaign, etc. Same applies to a remake within a generation. If they were to remake say Ninja Gaiden 2 again in a style similar to Sigma 1 to the xbox, only upping the graphics among other tweaks- it is mainly the same game and should take the position of the old exclusive spot, not be counted as a seperate. Not that it really matters.

Just because we are mods does not mean much in the over all battle on system wars. I disagree with calling the game exclusive. If your going to call it exclusive than you would also have to do that with every multiplat on the Wii system. It's about the same comparing the Wii to the HD systems has it is comparing the PS2 to the PS3.9.0, and Casey(mod here) consider it to be a PS3 exclusive.

Here is the reason why Graw is called an exclusive
psn, this is about GRAW 1, not GRAW 2, but yeah, even GRAW 2 on PC is different from the 360 and PS3 versions.
h575309, in order to get some things to work, like the 4 player co-op that the PC version has, the 360 version couldn't be done on PC because that version had single player only missions and some sections where you are alone at.
As for my explanation:
Genre: 360 version is a solid paced TPS while the PC version is a slow paced FPS. The 360 version plays more like Ghost Recon 2 while the PC version plays more like the original Ghost Recon, and I played the 1st 2 Ghost Recons and they aren't alike, I'm such a Ghost Recon fan, LOL.

Until there is really something as detailed as that post. When I look at MLB and people ask why not think of it as AAAE title. It's because it's the same game just with the extra power that the PS3 can give it. Just like all muiltplats when compariing them between the Wii and the HD systems.
