Onlive is best on small screens to make the 720p res less painful.

Can't even find it on the android market. Oh well.

ChubbyGuy40

Then you likely aren't able to run it. The market hides apps that your phone won't run.

Not all the time though, i looked for it too and it didn't show up on the app store. I had to go to onlive.com. btw i have a tegra 2 phone

Considering the ridiculous bandwidth caps mobile ISPs have introduced, I wonder how successful this would be...

Cloud computing? I'd reckon it is. Obviously OnLive is the first viable element, but with cloud technology taking over so many other media aspects (Spotify :D) it'd be naive to think stuff like this isn't accepted more and more as the accessibility increases.

The OnLive App curretnly violates Apple's App Store guidelines. This is why we don't have an iOS version yet.

I just downloaded it and got free Batman as per their promo. It's neat that it works (wifi only) but I really can't play it on my Motorola Droid 2 because the screen isn't big enought to allow the touch the controls with any kind of percision. They say that tomorrow they are going to release a controller that will work with many devices, but as of now the Droid 2 isn't one of them. So while I truly am amazed that I was able to try the Bastion demo on my phone this morning, I am sad that I probably won't ever get to play any of these games because of the limited touch controls.

It doesn't support 3G, only 4G and wifi, so unless you are 4G it's wifi only.

Seems like a kind of bad idea to me. Don't most of these tablets have a bad battery life while watching videos and since it will be using wifi constantly that will drain the batter further.soulitane
About the same as other handheld gaming (DS, PSP etc.) devices when used online.

Looks like most of the supported Onlive titles are ones that would work most easily with touchscreen capabilities. Maybe if there was better game controller support for smartphone devices, then it would make gaming on an Android/iPhone much less irritating, especially for many of the games that are available through Onlive, which normally require either a gamepad or KB&M to play.

Ah, in that case, it pretty much limits options even more.

When you're at work, on a trip etc. . The answer is so incredibly obvious.

It's because it doesn't support 3g. Try it on wifi. Jeez... read the OnLive site's info about using it why doncha'? Or maybe just peruse this thread.

Weird that the input lag worsens quite a lot on android compared to PC, it should just be the same, right? And I hate it running for a while, and my phone got quite hot. Can't imagine playing something that hot for long, but I never planned to.

http://www.jacehallshow.com/blog/xbox-controller-for-android-anyone-ice-cream-sandwich-will-support-usb-gamepads/ Hey check this out.. when the Android OS Ice Cream Sandwhich hits android devices, you'll be able to use USB gamepads on your Android devices. So that means if you have a droid with an HDMI output, you essentially will have a portable OnLive gaming console. Pretty badass.

Well if you have a 4g phone, or are in a trip away from home, it's pretty badass. And besides, my job has wifi. Works great here so far :D

I have HTC Desire HD, download speeds are 250kbs (so maybe 7mb connection? not sure), how do you think it'll run? I can watch HQ Youtube videos on my phone without buffering and they look crystal clear. :)

Doesn't Android have a grip on most of the market? Why is it always a second thought? Oh well, I can't try it until they release it on Android.

My office has 6mb and aside from a 1/2 second hiccup every minute or so, it runs and looks great on my Motorola Droid 2. However, the touch controls won't do at all for me. I have to wait for droid OS 4.0 so I can use controllers with my phone. But man, when I can, I'm sold on OnLive.

Yeah, but connecting a controller to a phone is ridiculous. Just imagine how goofy you're going to look with a controller hooked to a phone on your lap.

Looks completely unplayable. Touch controls are already sluggish. Add Onlive into the equation and you've got a joke on your hands.
