A game can't flop without hype :|. Anyway I don't give a crap about the reviews, I pre-ordered it and I'm going to have a ton of fun with it. It looks exactly like Mario Kart with better graphics (not a big deal but certainly beneficial) and of course the customizable tracks, which will be a highlight. Anyway it'll probably end up AA here and on Metacritic. Alan Wake flopped, if this gets the same level as AW does it's a loss for Lemmings in System Wars, not Cows.
I was also unaware that GT who gave Call of Duty MW2 GOTY last year was suddenly credible again. I guess that's the power of an exclusive not getting a huge score.
oh well, it never had a chance anyway with mario kart being as popular as it is.

Well it could still be popular with critics, as it is. In fact it's doing just as well with them as Mario Kart Wii. I love Mario Kart and that's actually a large part of why I'll be getting MNR launch day.

Im sorry but after the crapfest awards last year in GT its really really hard to takethier opinions seriously.The review just said it had a learning curve and it lacked life to them. Yet Iv heard the exact oppisote from ign. I sense mixed reviews.
I didn't say it didn't. I just told him what the hype of the game was. I didn't even know there was hype for this game at GS. I wish they had focused more on racing stuff and less on creation. Shame.

Even though I like the game footage for Gametrailers' reviews, they seem to use funny scenes to mock flaws in the games. I personally do not like that as the funny scenes make the reviews less serious.
With a 7.9 score, ModNation Racers could not out-score Mario Kart Wii which received a 8.4 from Gametrailers.
the only thing that worries me is apparently the LONG loading times... as for the rest have been looking forward to this game since it was announced...I love Kart Racing games and Modnation Racers is what i was waiting for... along the usual game modes & sp 'career' it has mp and most importantly the ability to create/share your tracks :)

I had the chance to Play a Few times Mario Kart Wii and its really a great game... However i wouldnt be surprised if Modnation Racers was named differently, say MarioNation Racers it would be getting more 9's when reviewed... :)
Haha don't worry I'm not declaring it a flop or anything yet. I was just wondering what the hype was in preparation for the GS review.
I guess the hype (if any) is for AA... personally am expecting an 8 - 8.5 score here at GS.. Still though its getting lots of positive reviews/comments which suggest the game is lots of fun :)
Well they don't seem to like the PS3 that much no game has scored over 9.4 as an exclusive where as the Wii has had 3 and 360 has had a couple as well.
Hmmm, I'll probably wait for Alan WAke and 3d dot heroes...I'm skeptical

IGN is trigger-happy with their AAA scores, now aren't they? Yep, that's my problem with them. You can't really differentiate games buy scores on IGN, doesn't do deserving games justice (not saying MNR doesn't deserve, just talking about in general)

MW2 pretty much winning every single catagory. IM surprised it didint win rpg and racer of the year.
Did GT seriouly rate the story and music of a Kart racer?

I know right? And plus I think they're comparing this game too much to Mario Kart. They're comparing it so much that they want it to control like Mario Kart. When they found out it doesn't, they took off points.

Yup, GOTY on PS3, Xbox and PC, all for MW2... I couldnt believe my eyes :(
