Yes, it's just some obscure mag with an axe to grind, but I think it's pretty obvious we'll see more of this sort of bull**** in the coming months. Thoughts?

Pfff.... get over it people.....
Actually the chance to see the white house burning to the ground only solidified further that this is a Day 1 purchase.

OMG, it's ok to shoot up nazi's and other kinds of enemys, but when they mention 9/11 it's the end of the world, this is like Black people in L4D2.

I don't know what was said about Demon's Souls, but there's always Killzone 2, right?
[QUOTE="whatisazerg"]The single player looks to be the best of any Call of Duty game yet in terms of content and story Could be with the story, though that's not saying much coming from a Call of Duty game. :P Depends what you mean by content, if you mean quantity-wise then I agree. oops, they do!!
And what about that Jeff Goldblast character? He oughta be banned what with his endorsing of terroristical imagery in his movies..Think of the children.InsaneBasurayes, think of teh children!
Of course, shelling the Natzees with artillery and shooting thousands of them and watching their bodies pile one on top of the other is fine (like Call of Duty 2) is a far more appropriate scenario for a war game. Literally, there has never been an invasion into the United States. What pansies we have in this country. Britain had to contend with years of air raids, Germany had an entire city firebombed out of existence (Dresden, our accomplishment BTW), Japan lost two cities to our nuclear bomb chest-puffing incident, China was overrun by the Mongols and then had to endure the "rape of Nanjing," and the United States also was an accomplished native genocider. Yeah, we literally killed or mated with every Native American on the continent. We're just little peaches, yes we are. Please don't blow up our state buildings in a videogame, it'll make us cry.BrownesqueMY grandpa was in the navy during WWII at his funeral the preist said he thinks america just doesent have the backbone like it use to. so many god damn pacifists.

Yea I had a feeling they would list it as a con, (Did the same with Radiant Dawn IIRC) but I believed that the game was great enough to still score AAA even with that floating above its shoulders. Happy to say that my beliefs payed off. :Pthis is no big deal at all.
i remember playing either Desert strike or Jungle strike for the super nes back in the day, and one of the missions you could fly your helicopter all over washington DC and destroy many of its landmarks, including the white house.
if you shoot the white house you make a giant hole into the top of it and if you look closely..you can see a little person inside. as a kid i always used to say that it was the president.
anyways....i miss desert and jungle strike

To be honest, you really don't have the right to say anything like that, there are people fighting over seas right now while you typed that post for our country.
On the topic of the Modern Warfare 2 trailer, it just made the game look less appealing if anything. Washington D.C. buring just seems so, Independence Day. I really wished Infinity Ward stuck to the shred of realism it had with the first is=nstallment regarding the story. If any city in the U.S. were to be burning, the last city I would think of would be Washington D.C., it seems so impossible.
9/11!!!!!
*lets not forget that in iraq alone more civilians have been killed then 9/11 the same for afganistan*
Which is why any one that uses 9/11 for any thing are hypocrites, where is the memorial for the civilians over there?

i support our troops but i dont support the people that sent them there(bush administration)

Anyway, I reckon the change of setting could be much interesting. Think Freedom Fighters is the only game to have really taken advantage of the "get off our lawn ya damn kids" theme..InsaneBasuraMore games should have it, it's actually a pretty epic idea. Imagine a level like D-Day, only you're the defender. It's along the coast of New York city, and you're about to be strategically dropped into the city to provide resistance against the invaders in case the forward defense is destroyed. But the plane is hit by a salvo of AA rounds from a far off ship part of a massive fleet closing in on the city. You get sucked out the back, and your parachute goes off just in time. You fall into the water, and right before drowning, you rip off the chute and claw your way up to the surface. You swim up to the nearby Ellis Island and man a heavy machine gun lined by a ton of others all manned and prepared to open fire and protect the nation. Above you, at last, their army meets ours. A mass of dog fighting and bomb dropping planes meet in the sky, and bullets go flying everywhere. 100s of enemy ships have unleashed armored boats filled with bad guys that are toughing it out through the endless barrage of anti-armor bullets coming from the coastline. Battleships begin to close in as well, firing off waves of missiles that slowly begin to level the city along the coastline, entire skyscrapers crumbling. Plane wreakage is falling from the sky almost as fast and rapidly as bullets are going off. You're on the turret and begin to fire on the incoming armored boats similar to Higgins, taking a few down. Your attention is pulled to a giant cluster of bombers closing in on the city. Suddenly, everybody on the small island begins to retreat into an underground bunker. You hear whisper of "Nuke sighted!" and "All gonna' die!". The heavily armored lead-lined door protecting the bunker from outside slams shut, just as a massive BOOM is heard and dust begins to sweep in. New York City has been nuked, and the enemy is on our soil. The end begins. *shakes head suddenly* Whoa, was I just fantasising there?
