Based on the predicted 1.7 million unit sales for Modern Warfare 2 and assuming an average £40 price point for each unit sold, the game could rack up a monstrous £64 million."

• Extremely Easy to pick up and play Multiplayer- Proven by the M16 and Helicopter.
• "Realistic" Shooters are popular at the moment, and "Science-Fiction" games have taken a popularity hit. This explains the mass hate towards shooters like Resistance and Halo, by people who play games such as Call of Duty and Killzone (Sci-Fi, i know, but played like a "realistic" shooter).
• Peer Pressure- If all your friends play it, you will as well.

Move From Cartridge to Optical Media

Console online capability

The Wii changed the way we think about playing

Most of those are recent in normal terms but are just mammoth compared to a game which has a lot of preorders and is just bandwagoned as the greatest game by loads of people its a good game but its just getting too much hype.This topic proves that theory.

It's a pity that this title had to get an ugly BBFC age rating. :(

Lol.....an entertainment phenomenon doesnt always mean good look at MTV its just commercialised bullcrap where artists without recoqnition found it hard to make a good mark.Not all social/entertainment phenomenons work or live for a while.
