Those assets, a series of teaser clips most prominently posted on YouTube, garnered more than 3 million combined views in just 48 hours, according to Hirshberg's count (the current combined total is close to 4.5 million views on YouTube alone). By comparison, Hirshberg said the first Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops teasers -- released according to schedule -- attracted a mere 61,000 and 89,000 views, respectively, in their first two days of availability. "So if you add those two numbers together, and take the sum and multiply it by 20 times, you'd have what we generated with these four teaser videos," he boasted. "So I think we managed to turn a crisis into an opportunity." Link.

I wonder how many views the BF3 teaser got in the 2 first days?

What does this prove exactly? Aside from the fact that CoD is popular?

That a lot of gamers look forward to it, despite many of you here downplaying it.

A mere starcraft 2 parody has more views http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzMhh8zhTiY&feature=channel_video_title

COD might sell tons on the street but on the internet the Starcraft 2 community overshadows everything.

I saw you posted and I was hoping you would be under control :P

Anyway, TC needs to be instructed to keep it to one thread. Other legitimate threads get buried when we have 800 about the same thing.

turtlethetaffer

it proves that even the haters are clearly interested in anything CoD related as do any topics created that relate to CoD. haters need to get involved, which is funny considering that if the so called haters truly did not give a damn about CoD, they would not continue to fuel hype, whether it be in response to leaks, or random posts about the series, they continue to throw their "hate" out there, when in reality it is those very people that drive the sales more than the "casual" crowd. I personally would love to tally up all the so called CoD haters out there that claim to never buy any CoD game again, that end up buying MW3.

Look TC you're only posts and threads are about MW3... Make a thread about sometihng else next time. The game will be a rehash smothered in glorious visuals as usual and a terribly short majorly action packed campaign just like the rest of the Call of Duty games after MW.

Because there is a topic on the internet about it. COD's a big deal. Why wouldn't people come into a topic about it to voice their opinions. Also seriously youtube views? You're using youtube views. True measure of quality right there.

I absolutely hate the way COD is looked at with a good bit of the internet gaming community. So you don't like it... its for "casuals" and "bro gamers"

I'm sorry I stopped making massive generalizations about people after middle school.

People obviously enjoy the game. People can't get over that.

I agree with what you are saying, but the king status it gains from the extreme COD fanboys can get annoying.

COD isn't "for" bro gamers but a large majority of its fanbase "are" bro gamers and you are straight up lying to yourself if you think the vast majority of the COD fanbase are people who have the kind of dedication and love for games as people who visit this forum.

There is nothing wrong with being the type of person who only plays the 3 or 4 popular games that drop a year. Absolutely nothing at all but you're straight up crazy if you think this forum of all people (as immature as we can be) can't tell something as clear cut as Call of Duty's fanbase.
