Modern Warfare 3 Poster Leaked: NYC demolished into ruins, WW3?

Hopefully, it's not true. I don't want them to move onto future warfare. :cry: Modern setting is where it's at!!!

"Speaking of leaks, here's an interesting one. GameStop will reportedly be giving away a double-sided poster with pre-orders. One side features the silhouetted soldier we're all used to, while the other features a TIME mock-up depicting New York in ruins.

The poster looks legit, so you're probably go to start muttering, "Oh boy, heeeere we go." We know that Modern Warfare 3 takes place in major cities of the world, including New York, so we expect the city to get all war'd up, and don't have a problem with that. We also know, however, that 2011 marks ten years since 9/11, and that the liberties of fiction are often mistaken by the freak-out squad as intentional disrespect.

Of course, controversy is sought by marketers about as often as it's avoided, so here's yet another article ending with, "Well, this'll be interesting." Well, this'll be interesting." ---GamesRadar

I wouldn't be surprised if MW3 was based in various locations across the world including NYC. I'm sure there is another game set in similar locations, except we knew about it before MW3. Oh, what is that game called?

I really don't care. The capaign of MW2 was very meh (the only truly great level was the one where you had to infiltrate the Arctic base... I tihnk it was right before No Russian.) And this game is not looking to be any better.

obviously they are using big landmarks to generate interest....im still surprised that the series relies on the "shock and awe" method to get noticed.....desperate yet it works for them

You did that somewhat in MW2... but I don't know, being the "bad guy" army in a game (although the morals in many video game armies are questionable to begin with) would make me feel like a total jerk.

The problem with doing something like this is that it relies too much on shock value. MW2 did it with No Russian and the burning White House and now MW3 will be doing it.

It's where the United Nations is, The NY Stock exchange, and the most populated city in the US. The idea is, if NYC were to "fall" it would be a devasting blow to the US both culturally and financially.

That poster isn't even leaked. Gamestops have them set up in store. Mine has about four set up.
