I sign up before Dec 3 so i was automaticlly in ^^ I am fan of user generated content, so i'm interested with game at day of it's annoucment and i sign in in first days of signing up
You got still chance for key, you just need to sniff abound
The beta is really laggy and will probably be mostly unplayable until tomorrow. So far its pretty good but I find that it isn't as good at being a racer as LittleBigPlanet is at being a platformer.NightmareCV
Yea, i heard it's becouse download files are in same servers and ruch downloads is lagging them, i hope it will be ok soon, i already got my first track ready to upload :) track creation it's much easier then LPB levels.
Firstly i was thinking that it's because use it in Europe, but i never had problems with connecting and playing US servers before (On PC ofcorse)
The game is freaking amazing and the creation tools are more accessible and easier to work for.
Its more community active than LBP since the moment I enter the game I could connect online and interact with people in the mod spot, I could chat, voice chat, share with the people on my room.
Its amazing.
Gameplay is fantastic and smooth.
I made a Joker based mod and kart, made a track that is work in progress, gonna publish it when I make my big jump.
Can I still get it through qore?

I got my code earlier, I was only able to get into 1 online race but it was really fun. Hopefully they get a patch or something soon. I still wish they could've somehow got with media molecule and used sackboy as the racers.

Nah! Mods (offical name of characters) are more customazable. They already made Spiderman, Joker, Cloud costumes just by useing very limitied elements that are in beta^^
It is just what i expected and im loving it. I spent a good hour, maybe a hour and a half customizing my character and car. The hub is pretty cool, everything is laid out great and its fun seeing all the other people in a hub. I did about 5 races and the controls can use a little tunning, but other then that its great. It is a good fun kart game, the powerups work good, the boosting and ways to earn boost are good, and the maps ive played so far are great. I did the editor for about 10 mins and made a full course. The auto populator works great, but i can tell if you want to make anything spectacular you better do it the long and hard way. There is so much you can customize, i can see building a track of your dreams taking a few hours, but those hours will be fun. I am looking foward to building my own track tonight, its a day one buy for me.

Yea they are more customizable, I just thought it would have been a good way for sony to further intoduce sackboy as one of their mascots.. Either way though this is going to be a fun game once they get it running right.
It's loooks like connection is doing better now ^^ i finnaly able to play and i raced 5 in row. It's quite fun.
I like combo power up system, if you keep power up they upgrade if you get another power ups. Too bad that custom tracks are not raceable yet

UFG probebly start working on Modnation artwork before they Sony became there publisher. Besides there plan is to make more ModNation games (see interviews from E3)

gameplay is incredible. Graphics are also surprisingly great too. It is the framerate. Runnign sub 20 frames per second constantly. It causes control issues, lag, among other things. It really needs to be sorted out big time. It is 20 frames per second locked. It sometimes I feel ike goes to 8 frames per second.
customization is great and all, but post more about the actual gameplay. They need to get this down if they want my $60

It's named ModSpot (similar huh?) it's a area when you drive with your kart and there other players too (if you online mode) you can talk via text and voice. Theres also sceens (similar to home) with info about rankings etc. to do something you drive to specific area and press squre.
Gameplay
-We got 2 online modes Casual and XP, Casual allow you to custom race settings, XP is ranking races, ranking races got only 3 prebulid tracks
-Theres tips that there gonna be split sreens mode, yet unknown how many players
-Theres Buster meter that increses when you make tricks, drifts etc., when you press L1 it turn on boost and deincrese the meter, you will when you load it up to half it will it will allow you use shield (that look the same way as Halo 3 shield granades :shock: ), i don't know how they work i only seen tip for them.
-Power-ups as i allready said, they being upgraded if you keep them and pick them more, i already seen: Missile, Shock Wave, Thunter and ofcorse Boost.
-You can also jump pressing X, when you doble tap it you will jump higher to avoid obsticules
Custmalization:
-Whole customlization part is name Creation Station and there you got 4 rooms for Mods, Karts, Tracks and Shereing machine to Upload and Download user stuff.
-Theres over 250 kinds of eyes, noses and mouths (only few of them are unlocked in beta) also you don't need them to make Mod playable,you cna customize color of eyes
-All stickers are vector graphics (for mods and karts), this means they look the same quality what ever you do to them, theres even some trasformation option in advance editing mode. Also you can edit every color element of every sticker
-As i said theres only few elements in each category and carrer mode is locked, so no unlocking in beta
-Track is quite advance tool and i didn't dive in to all tools yet, so i won't discribe it, you surly see some videos on YouTube soon for that.
My english is not as good to describe everything, so this major things that i notice, ask specific quastion as you like.

Thanks. How did it feel to control the kart when you were racing?Controls are with the R2 for accleration and L2 for braking. X to drift, O to put up shield, and square to use weapons. There is no controller customization. Which I would rather had weapon and shield on the triggers, and accleration on X, and square or circle as brakes.The power ups from what I've seen there are 4 different power-ups with 3 different levels. All are generic and not really fun to use. Their isn't a Mine ish power up from what I've seen. Or something that shoots back at enemies behind you.
The framerate is sub 20 fps.
The track advance tools are clunky and need a tutorial. It is very easy to make a decent track (probably take 10 minutes) but almost impossible to fine tune it. There is no tutorial nothing that tells you how or what to do.
Also there appears to not be any battle mode similar to super mario kart. At least in the hub world. There is split screen, etc. But only racing, and time trial atm appear apparent. Anything else is just rumored and would need to change the hub world.
The gameplay is though incredible. Fast pace, not much lag either for the game(the network is great which surprised me). Framerate stutters at moments. Especially on start up and on track creation.
I give props to Sony. This is about the only way they could release a 1p PSN game that actually works with PSN.
As far as gameplay goes, I wish it had more of that power slide feel that Mario Kart used to have in either 1 or 2. Love they added the jump feature, but would be nice that you didn't lose speed when trying to use it like Mario kart lol. But over all so far for my little time with it, its going to be a blast for sure. Definitly when I get more used to it.
theres a European beta!? how do i get in?The European Beta doesn't start until after new year I think, which sucks. I wonder if UFG will send me a code if I send them a nice email... :P

Nice customization pics of the modnation avatars. At first I didn't like them and I wanted to use Sack people instead so we don't have to pay for skins all over again. But since you can customize them any way you like, makes them better now. I had to stop downloading the beta last night and start downloading now. I'm at 61% percent.
