Was playing Paper Mario, and there was a part in the game where I had to use my paper ability to fly over a bridge, and when I got over, I saw a door with a balcony over it, and thought I had to get to the balcony. I tried countless times to fly to the balcony and failed.. so I finally swallowed my pride and looked it up on YouTube and all I had to do was go through door 😆 Which got me thinking, I’ve had moments like this before where I got stuck and it turned out to be simple. Have you had those moments, SW? Do share!

Many, many times but I can't think of one specifically at the moment, but it would peeve me off realizing I spent so much time only to discover the answer was right in front of me the whole time. lol :P

I felt pretty dumb when I figured out how to beat Quadraxis in Metroid Prime 2.

Loading Video...

I remember this fight being pretty stressful as well, with your constantly depleting health due to the atmosphere of this area.

I got stuck during the phase when it's a head floating around. For the longest time I did not realize I had to use the Spider and Boost Ball to latch onto its head.

I remember at the time I was frustrated and ended up putting the game down for about a year. When I finally picked up the game again I beat Quadraxis very quickly when I realized the final phase was more of a puzzle.

"That was it?"

I was stuck on a very early part in Celeste b/c I somehow missed or forgot holding a trigger allows you to grip the walls.

More recently Jedi Survivor has 1 or two places that had really slim entry points you have to squeeze through that I didn't realize were there.

I get lost in video games very often. This also happens in real life where I get lost as soon as I am in a new territory. Thanks god for all the maps in games, pointers and internet walkthroughs. Old 2D games were much easier to navigate. It was usually just from left to right, lol.

Oh man Metroid Dread and I just did not get on in this department.

At the start of the game with the broken robot you get to a point then it goes to a cutscene where Samus looks down at the broken robot. After the cutscene the player is at the top of the ledge. I did not spot the door just behind me. It looked like a wall to me. So I thought "oh...now I have to run back and do something". So I jumped back down and looked for any sign of a button or something back in the first few areas, all while being pursued by the broken robot. After about 5 mins (and a few restarts...there was a small hall where you can't really jump over the robot) I ran through the door I was supposed to go through by complete fluke. I don't recall shooting a door there to open it there so I never twigged it.

Oh but it gets worse. The first proper pursuit. There is a room where you need to drop down and slide into a vent to escape the robot. But I didn't see the vent. Instead I was jumping over the area you are supposed drop down to as I was convinced I was supposed to jump up further down in the room. There was an edge that looked like I could get to it so I just focused on getting my jumps just right. Got pretty close too. But when I saw the youtube video my reaction was "there is a vent there!?".

Yeah that game was traded in fairly sharpish after that. We were not going to work out. Cheaper than an eye test :P. I think i got Neo The world ends with you as a replacement too so worked out well in the end.

Kinda similar to part 2 of the dread tale: in twilight princes there is a spot where you need to transform into wolf form, walk over a tight rope and hop down a hole. I completely forgot that I could walk tightropes in wolf form. I thought the rope was just a decoration. It also just so happens that the distance between the ledge and the hole looks like it something I could jump down in human form. So, for ages, I was running up to the ledge, working on getting the angle just right, hopping off and trying again. Got pretty close too :P.

The last boss fight in Devil May Cry 4. All I had to do was use the demon arm against it (to finish him). I looked up a walkthrough. I felt like an idiot and so emasculated.

The part at the beginning of Arkham Asylum where you walk in and have to fight like 20 dudes. I was smashing every button so frantically that my hands were cramping. Not only that, but I was getting my ass kicked. I was thinking "how is this possible!", and figured I was doing something wrong. So I slowed down, and made every attack or counter deliberate. And that's when I realized it was a rhythm game and not a button masher.

Freaking recently with legacy of the lost. Zero swim sections so far and i'm looking for coins. I noticed I was no longer standing, but swiming, so I thought nothing of it. But I had to go down that whole.

Nothing off the top of my head. It's usually something that gets you more-and-more frustrated so you make stupid mistakes, but then come back the next day and just crush whatever was going on. Malenia was big for this in Elden Ring... I'd go in and progressively do worse, but came back and beat her.

Got stuck in Ocarina of Time tons of times. It was young and it was my first Zelda so alot of its mechs were new to me, like clearing out a room of enemies (bats in this situation) to open a door, shooting the eye with an arrow to change that twisted corridor in the Forest Temple ect

Reminds me of Majora’s Mask, that game felt very obtuse.

Many times especially in older games. But I usually dont have the patience I just go to walkthough sites if I ever get stuck.
