Two thoughts after watching the video:
1. That looked really, REALLY good.
2. Is it just me, or did that music sound an awful lot like the Superman theme?

I did sound a lot like the super man theme. And yes,the game looks really good. *adds to list*That game looks really good.
I'm pretty ignorant on Monster Hunter, so do they generally have a story behind them? I presume it'd have some kind, but you never know.
no not really your just a hunter as far as i know ive only played parts of the game never owned it because i never had a ps2 or psp but ive never seen anything that resembles a storyThat game looks really good.

Hmmm, I think i'll have to play it, just to see how it stacks up. I'll put this on my list of to buy, when I have my Wii, of course :P

ya try it out this will be my first MH game as well even though ive played it before ive never actually owned itJust need a few guys to play this with me, and I'll for sure get it.
However I don't have any friends that are even remotely interested :(
[QUOTE="Cherokee_Jack"]Okay, I'm seriously getting a little suspicious of this now. Can the Wii really do graphics like that?ChuteboxDidn't think the graphics were anything to write home about. The monsters were pretty awesome but environments suffered. Still, I don't think they'll be able to maintain a solid framerate. But we'll see.
It looks really good, This is how a big budget game looks on Wii. Its not up to par with 360 and PS3, but it is easily better looking that anything last gen.
To be fair, the graphics are far from outstanding (especially the backgrounds) and theyre not the best on the wii as people seem to be thinking (though they are pretty good), not that I care because the monsters themselves looked epic. Awesome trailer really got me hyped for this game.
Looks on par with Shadow of the Colossus which is still very good. That trailer looked good, ive never played a MH game before so is it all action or is there a story of some sort?
Minus the fact that Shadow of Colossus was a jaggerific mess with awful textures, no shaders and moved at 10 fps.Looks on par with Shadow of the Colossus which is still very good. That trailer looked good, ive never played a MH game before so is it all action or is there a story of some sort?

Minus the fact that Shadow of Colossus was a jaggerific mess with awful textures, no shaders and moved at 10 fps. Not when I played it. :| It did have framerate issues, but considering the size of it, the textures were fine, and it was an amazing game anyway, one of the best of last-gen.[QUOTE="shutdown_202"]

Not really, the framerate dipped sometimes but it still looked very good.
I think it was unfair of me to compare it to SotC since the game has such a radical artstyle. I would change it now to say its graphically around Zelda:TP level which again looks very good till this day. Obviously in scale MH3 trumps it by far but im talking about graphically.
Yeah its good but not the best on the Wii like some are saying. Galaxy, brawl and Prime 3 trump it.
Anyway none of that really matters, can someone tell me if these games are very story centric?
Anyway none of that really matters, can someone tell me if these games are very story centric?shutdown_202Pretty much not at all, I mean the opening cinematic at least in the last PSP one I played, involves people going out, hunting monsters, and making equipment out of it, so they can hunt more powerful monsters and such, the title is pretty much the story, Monster Hunter, its what you are, its what you do, the whole appeal pretty much comes from doing it with other players, its a horrible borefest solo.
No, the level of detail exceeds Shadow by a lot. I love shadow, and I thought it looked incredible, but this looks better... by a good margin.Looks on par with Shadow of the Colossus which is still very good. i believe all the videos out are from the MH3 demo that just shipped with MHG in japan, so yes i believe it getting a good framerate as its already shipped on a disc with those graphics, which are pretty good by wii standards
i like how some people just don't understand the technological gap between PS2 and Wii, Xbox and Wii there isn't a huge gap no, but PS2 AND wii, people say this looks good for a wii game, BUT like the best PS2 game (this isn't directed at you cherokee)
do they not realise the 290Mhz CPU, and 32MB RAM, and 4MB VRAM from the PS2 couldn't run something that clearly is doing its best to use the Wii's 729Mhz CPU, 88MB RAM, and 64MB VRAM? i know wii games get bashed for graphics, and yes sometimes devs release games that could be replicated on a PS2, but this game, how can it look good for a wii game but great for a PS2 game when the PS2 couldn't do this kinda stuff? heck PS2 didn't even have RE4 look best, it looked best on GCN.
Okay, I'm seriously getting a little suspicious of this now. Can the Wii really do graphics like that?Cherokee_Jackum yeah... The game on par with mgs3's visuals. Mgs3 is a high tier ps2 game. I'm pretty sure the wii can handle it.

i was playing Snake Eater the other day on my PS3 and let me tell you it doesn't look as good as the videos of the Monster Hunter 3 demo.
Maybe its coz Monster Hunter 3 has more color? I dunno. Some of the parts of Snake Eater look really crappy on my TV. Plus MH3 doesn't look like it has much going on on the screen expect battles
I don't know much about monster hunter, i think i'm gonna try one the psp, but that actually look interesting but i don't think i'm gonna buy a wii just for one game. and plus if capcom isn't too lazy the could make a monster hunter game for the ps3
Is this Pay2play outside of Japan?...SMR-Venom
I really doubt it. It's not popular enough outside of Japan for Capcom to get away with it elsewhere. I know, for NA at least, the earlier MH games were not Pay2Play, though I think they were in Japan.

In Japan, they won't have FC's for this game, however now I think they will have FC's outside of Japan because it is most likely gonna be free.Is there a single player component to these games? Everyone seems to think that the online for them is crucial, but I'm not much of an online player.I'll still never under stand why this game isn't ps3/360, mainly because of the greater online capabilities and the fact that all the other MH games were on sony consoles. Still looks pretty good though.
