Even though there has not been a lot of new information on this title: Do you think that the popularity of the Monster Hunter games being released on the Wii will give it a significant sales boost (Like Crisis Core for the PSP had)? I know that MH isn't that popular here state-side, but, I personally love it, the Japanese are crazy for their Monster Hunter. Yes, I know you can't play sales, but I repect the series a lot and wonder if it only releasing on the Wii will affect its AND the Wii's sales. And, if you know where any new information on this title, feel free to post a link! I'm itching to see anything aside from those teaser trailers.

Monster Hunter 3 will be absolutely massive in Japan. No doubt about it.

Demand for the Wii already far exceeds the actual supply. Unless this bottleneck is resolved, such a boost in sales is technically impossible.

MH is popular on handhelds and wasn't really popular when it was on the PS2.

It will boost sales and likely be the best selling console version of the series..but some games simply do better on handhelds so I don't expect it to do as well as the PSP games in Japan...

.....on the flipside I think the Wii game could do wonders for the franchise in the west (much as Tales of symphonia on the Gamecube pushed the series forward in the western markets).

There will probably be a boost to the Wii sales. With Nintendo producing about 2.1 million consoles per month, they could easily divert Wiis to Japan or any other country for major game announcements.

Of course, this is all speculation. MH3 might do a GTAIV and sell no Wiis at all.

I really wish they didn't abandon sony with that awesome series, my friends and I were waiting eagerly for them to release 2 but sadly, the bastards decided to not port. :(

I'd kill to see MH3 on the ps3 with a really nice engine, while I'm sure it will be fun on the wii, I can only hope they at least make it look better then the ps2 ones.

Monster Hunter 2 sold 500k on the PS2, and that was before Monster Hunter Portable 2nd. And only a short time after MHP1st. It will easily do better then it did on the PS2. But to how much extent is the true question. Can it be big as the portable releases or will it just be like the other 2?

Wasn't that due to the PS2 onlice? Which was awful but then again the Wii's online (friends codes) is awful too.
