So, I bash the Wii sometimes.... based on it getting so few actually good games. Well, it's the truth, so sue me.

Lately I've been playing Monster Hunter Tri, it's friggin addictive.

I've been playing for a while and I figured this forum was the best to ask seeing as how fast it gets replies. How the Hell do I register monsters? I'm using the Classic controller, actually the one that came with the game + controller bundle, and I've just been ignoring that feature as I haven't been able to get it to work. So, using that controller, how do I register Monsters in my journal?

And this is on-forum because PC sucks lately. PC < all.

If i'm not mistaking you have to point at them with the Wiimote to register them. Even if you are playing with the classic controller.

It's a stupid process. Open your menu and open up your hunter's journal. Done? Okay, now put down your classic controller and pick up your wiimote. Point it at the screen, hold the button prompted, and drag the outline of the monster to the bottom right of the screen. Done. I don't know who thought that was a good idea, especially when trying to register the larger 'boss' monsters.

So I have to use the Wiimote then, even with the Classic controller? You think they would've built that command into in to the Classic Controller as well, but whatever, no big deal.

Glad I asked, because I would've never figured that. Is there anything else in game I should know about that absolutely requires the WiiMote to function (rather than the Classic Controller)?

And yes, this game is insanely addictive. I'm only several hours in and already I can tell I'm not going to be able to put it down for a very, very long time. I bash the Wii because it generally doesn't get games I really can sink my teeth into but this game is another story entirely. I don't think I'll be playing my 360 or PS3 for quite a while.... I still have Red Dead Redemption to play but I have no compulsion whatsoever to put Monster Hunter down, Red Dead can wait. I'll be playing this 'till the bitter end. Looks absolutely fantastic too, graphically (and I play on an HDTV.) For those of you like me,who also has a Wii and who finds yourself not playing it often -do yourself favor and pick this game up.

well another thing the wiimote is needed for is checking what your armor skills do i think those are the only 2 thing the wiimote is needed for
