Monster Hunter World - PS4 Pro or XBOX One X?

I'll be buying it on my PS4, BUT if I had a Pro and an X I'd buy it on the X.

I'm looking for opinions. I'm leaning towards PRO but the X seems interesting to me.

PS for the community more than anything.

I own a Pro and a X, as with all myltiplat I'll go with the X. Plus with a online component the Xbox is the logical choice.

If you have both probably the X. If you have to choose though.. i'll go with the Pro cause Spiderman, God of War and Days Gone is on their way.

Easy. I would go with the Pro as I see it having a way more vibrant community for this game.

Well your pro's & con's are a bit skewed, and from reading them you have neither system and are bringing other games into the discussion, and also price., so this is not just about Monster Hunter World.

I won't be selling you anything other than to make up your own mind.

@i_p_daily: I mean.. of course I'm not just going to let it sit there once i'm done with MHW on console. That's why I'm interested in both. I currently have xbox one and PS4 but looking for a step up on one of them for the best experience in MHW.

Actually, not sure why I mentioned price.. I just can't think of enough pros and cons for both systems.

Anyway, decided on PS4 pro since it will benefit monster hunter the most and grab an X1X when the time comes.

I'm getting it for PS4, but I think the Xbox One X version is going to be better.

Still not enough for me to get one, but cool for those that own an XoneX

Who would buy this on Xbone? It's a Japanese game. You can choose, playing with bunch of people on PS4 or playing alone on Xbone.

I prefer getting my multi platform games on Xbox systems because I prefer the controller and the whole Xbox ecosystem. Being able to play it on a more powerful system like the Xbox One X is an added bonus.

You don't own either of the systems, and you want us to tell you which to buy in order to then buy a game that you will also buy on pc. Who in their right mind has a gaming pc and buys a console just to play a game that they plan on simply buying again on their pc due to sheer impatience? I call bs.

@Pedro: Not Japanese multiplats... PS community would be much larger.

If you're just going to get the PC version anyways (and for some reason can't wait), just buy a base console for cheap and the game

For online gaming I go with Xbox Live. So I would def. go with xbox one x. Plus not knowing Sonys Plans for Backwards Compatibility, better off buying on xbox live so your content carries forward and not left buying games 2x.

Multiplayer games are always fun to go back to and im in a lot of clubs on xbox and can always find people to party up with on x360 to xbox one games.

There will probably be a lot more people on the Pro. If you are more of a solo player and care a lot about graphics, the Scorpio might be the way to go.

Ps4 pro

I'm sure Xbox will get shafted when it comes to DLC so I'd go with ps4 pro but I have friends on Xbox one x not ps4 so thats what I'll be getting it on.

Do you see all the cows saying the Pro because of community? Well by playing multiplayer games on a regular basis on Xbox we create friendships and don't need to play with randoms most of the time, so i'll be playing this with friends (i'd explain that concept to you cows but it would take too long) Just another negative side effect from Sony and it's SP movie games :(

I'm getting it on the X because I'm satisfied with the system and this looks like an interesting franchise. Don't really know anything about the pro version, don't own the system, but as far as the X is concerned for me:

-Game has online co-op, one of Xbox's strengths

-It's listed on the X-enhanced list with HDR support ....game is designed to take advantage of my recent X purchase

-The community on Playstation will most likely be bigger, especially because of the game's region free servers(quoted below from the Xbox store version, and we know XOne does not have a big install base in Japan), so that is a point to consider for some people. For me, it's a non-issue because I'm sure the game will have thousands of players in my region and the important thing is I am able to play it online when I want:

"Venture on quests alone or with up to three hunters in a newly designed online drop-in multiplayer system which allows cross-region cooperative play between Japan and the west, uniting the player base for the first time ever."

A nice looking game, heard great things about this franchise and this will be my introduction, looking forward to trying it.

If you have both, then I guess the X would have the superior version unless the developer half asses their job.

Obviously with a multi-platform title you go with what will give you the best visual qualities, online, and controller you prefer. Based on hardware for visual qualities that's the Xbox One X over the Playstation 4 Pro. Controller is preference. Online is preference; whatever your friends plan on picking the game up for. The whole Japanese fans on one console is hilarious. It's not like the developers are going to side with one console over the other or else they wouldn't even have bothered releasing it on the Xbox.

You already mentioned you're getting this on PC though which in this case is the obvious choice for Monster Hunter for those with gaming PC's and I'll gladly wait until Monster Hunter hits PC to pick it up.

There's nothing wrong with buying Japanese games on xbox if it happens to get one or 2, but if you bought the xbox with expectations of playing the great Japanese games then you're wasting your money.

This will look best and should have a decent player base on PC, though the most active base will be on PS4. I'm not even sure why this is even coming to Xbox. It'll be dead within two weeks among the few dozen people who will play it.
