Could this be a hint that Moore knows something that we don't? I mean he left Sega right after the Dreamcast failed right? What do you think?snorlaxmaster
No. When he left SEGA, the Dreamcast was dead. Hate to be the one that gives you a current events lesson, but the 360 isn't even close and still leads this generation.

Yeah, Moore left Microsoft because EA is giving him a LOT of $$ i heard.
Could this be a hint that Moore knows something that we don't? I mean he left Sega right after the Dreamcast failed right? What do you think?snorlaxmasterPeter Moore is one of those guys who comes in to do a specific job, then leaves. He's not a videogame industry vet, and he's not loyal to any one company. He's a marketing guy. His job was to turn the Xbox brand into a dominant entertainment brand. Arguably, he achieved that.
Hmm, let's see...Oh yeah, both Sega and Microsoft are two completely different companies. Micorsoft itself is a well established mulit-billion dollar international corporation. They surely have the funds to back up the 360, let alone hire someone else to do the job Moore backed out on. I'm getting tired of the comparisons of Microsoft and the Xbox360 to Sega and their consoles. 360 is leading in the sales right now. They have Xbox Live, a well established online gaming community. they are doing well, believe me. Many titles and a well established audience. Btw, what in this world is perfect?worthyofnote
The only thing that can be compared is the games. The Dreamcast had a great game lineup for the time it was on the market. The 360 also has an amazing game lineup. That is where the comparisons stop though since the 360 continues to outsell the PS3, with out even having a price drop and will own the rest of 07 in terms of sales and games.
I'd also like to point out that the Dreamcast was dead just a year after the PS2 launched in Japan. The 360 is still selling steady. With a price drop and the amazing lineup of games the system has this holiday, it will probably surpass its Q4 holiday sales that were just over 4 million shipped WW last year. In fact estimates have the 360 shipping 5 to 6 million in Q4 of this year alone. If that is the case, then the 360 byend of June next year will have already shipped close to as many XBOXs shipped for its lifetime in half the time. Pretty good for MS.
i can guarantee Sony will want EA to appear at their next E3 demoing sport games, and guess who's gonna be there talking good things about Playstation on stage to million of people live.........i want more....OWNAGE TO XBOTS....funolopy
Sure, if Moore goes to EA. I'm sure he'll say many great things about games that are licensed under EA. IT"S HIS JOB! Lol. If he appears to demo EA games for Sony, then power to him. It's his job. No one is getting owned except for us consumers.

Maybe there wouldn't be any EA sports games for the PS3 next year. Maybe it will be Peter Moore demoing 360 only sports games for MS to millions of people live.

The XBOX 360 does not outsell the PS3 anymore. 360 sales have stabalized but PS3 sales are going up fast since the last 2 week. As for the Wii it's droping pretty fast but still outselling the other ones. The 360 is nevertheless the most popular console at the moment, followed by the Wii and PS3.

All valid points I have agreed and testified myself in other threads.

I have also agreed with something similar to this in a previous thread. I'm glad Sony is picking up in sales of it's PS3.

NPD proves you wrong, even though I'm not a big fan of NPD. In fact please show me another country, besides Japan, that has the PS3 outselling the 360 and the funny thing is even in Japan, the PS3 is only outselling the 360 by a few thousand units, while in America the 360 has been outselling the PS3 by 50K units or better since the PS3 has been on the market. Do you honestly believe that price drop, Halo 3, Mass Effect, GTA IV, etc won't help MS have a better 4th quarter this year than last year? I mean it is one thing to be a cow, but another to be completely delusional to facts.
Supposedly all of us posting here lol. worthyofnoteDon't get me wrong, i don't wish to see MS fail (like some people) i think they have maid a pretty good system, and i anticipate a few of their games. I just don't want to look like an ignorant PS3 fanboy cow who came here to bash the 360, because that is far from the case.
As long as they don't fix their hardware problems they are going to keep bleeding money like no other. There's also the risk of a possible global recall. Their sales also stagnated after the launch of the Wii and PS3.
Sorry, but I can't see the xbox brand continuing after this holiday season.

I don't know why people keep hiring him. Everyone criticized Kutaragi for having to high of standards. Well Peter Moore has never had that issue. EA is already having problems with not having high enough standards. The last person on the plane they need is Peter Moore.

Would you care to bet on that? I can always use some extra money.
Oh and btw, there is a global recall. It's called facts. We should all face them, we are the ones that are faltering and being owned.worthyofnote
An Ebgames in Austraila doesn't count as a global recall.
Any way if they were having a global recall then I would have been called. On top of that, they wouldn't have issued a 3 year warranty to deal with the situation. Plus, even if they had a recall, they would simply give you a new 360 so big whoop. They are losing the money, not me.

$28 Billion Cash lol
That and Mr. Gates is worth 58 billion alone. I doubt he'd let a product of his company just up and fail without a fight, and throwing some cash at it.

Sure it is a hobby to them. In the fact that Iam talking, the fact that business is a hobby. They're doing what they can to maximize profits and sell products. They want to keep us hooked so they can continue to sell us products. I doubt MS would allow it's flagship console to fail. It'd be bad for business.

By your theory, Sony is about to give up. They just lost 500 million for the quarter for their console/gaming division and are expected to lose another billion for the rest of the year.
The 360 meanwhile is already in the black, some where the XBOX never went and MS estimated that they will be in the green sometime in 2008, although with the 1 billion warranty set back, they will probably move that estimation to 2009.
Either way, MSforQ1 this yearnetted 5 billion as a whole. I'm not sure what they netted last quarter, but I'm sure it was in the 3 to 4 billion range. That is 8 to 9 billion they have netted for a company this year and we still have half of 2007 to go.
Man I love money! I'm an International Business major, money is a hobby.
But yeah, it is still somewhat early in the year.

MS has money.
The Xbox division doesn't.
They won't keep banking a failure division for eternity.
MS business plan 101, throw money at product till said product becomes market leader, move on to next market
Face it MS is here to stay
