Ok so my friends all have 360s and they really want me to get one, but I want a PS3 so much more (free online, free wi-fi, Blu-ray player, etc.). The main reason though is the game selection. There's so many current and upcoming PS3 exclusives I want to play it's ridiculous (Killzone 2, God of War 3, MGS4, LBP, Gran Turismo 5, Twisted Metal, Heavy Rain, inFamous, Final Fantasy Versus, MAG, Quantum Theory, LA Noire, Resistance 2, Socom, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1/2, Uncharted 1/2, Folklore, Heavenly Sword, The Show 09, EyePet, etc. etc. These are just off the top of my head too. So yea, has anyone else come across this problem when buying a system? If so, which way did you go and was it the right decision?

All my close friends are a really split user base (as in we all own different consoles hence we never play online) so I would just go with the PS3. You play what you want, let them play what they want. Plus, by christmas the 360 should reduce in price again so pick one up then.

I love multiplayer so I would go with the 360. If you do too go for the 360. It's much more fun playing online with friends. If your more into single player the ps3 would be fine. I personally perfer the 360 anyways overall.

My personal preference is being able to play with friends. But I'm more into multiplayer games. I don't think the PS3's online is as great as the 360's, but I guess you wouldn't have any friends to play PS3 online with anyways. Regardless, PS3 is a good way to go ;). But I think playing with friends is more fun.

Both are important. If you'd play online with or against your friends (don't underestimate the fun of this), I'd grab the 360. The games between the two systems are similar enough that you won't really miss out on anything. If playing friends online isn't an issue, then go for the PS3.

From your list it seems like you basically only like Sony games. I don't there's any point for you to buy a non Sony system. There are millions of people on PSN... if you can't make friends with at least one of them and play some games... I don't know what to say.

playing with friends for me. suprisingly i've been buying more PS3 games and only 1 other friend has a PS3. like 8 of my friends have a 360 and i've been missing out on playing with them :(, oh well, choices.

if i were you though, i'd have to say do what makes you happy. don't worry about your friends if you really don't want to get a 360. if game selection matters to you more and you want to play more games on the PS3, get the PS3. but honestly though, no matter which system you get you'll have a great experience with either games wise.

i personaly value my time i spend with friends on titles like Halo wars, Gears of war 2 and Marble Blast Ultra. however i lacked the other side of things when i made my choice because there wasen't enough on PS3 to justify the money (and still isen't)

Really depends on the person. Personally I like a good mix. I need games I can play with people and some I can play online and by myself.

Friends. The better games that fit your interests may be great at first, but you'll feel kinda lame after a while if you're not playing with you're friends.

I've got both for the 360, I like their game selection better and I think all of my friends IRL that play video games have a 360. :D

With other people, in person. Of course you need a good selection of games so you will have something to play with your friends.

Game selection, I got a Wii to play with my friends and still feel wrenching pains thinking about it. Play LittleBigPlanet in person- oh god, not online. Or Resident Evil 5 in person, the co-op in that is intense.

It depends on how much you like your friends. Haha, I mean if the experience isn't going to be good overall, there's no point. Friend o' mine constantly tells me to get Xbox Live, but since he gets kind of douche bag-y during even split screen (and I don't really care for playing with the other guys), I chose PC instead. With two good buddies of mine, when I first started playing Day of Defeat, I'll tell you now, I sucked so much, but I had the time of my life!

This should be made into a survey, mainly for Europe. I'm in the UK, most of my friends have 360, some cos of Halo, some cos of the price. And the few that can afford a PS3 like theirs cos of blu-ray, selected exclusives and other random stuff like rechargeable controllers and stuff as standard.

i picked ps3 over xbox 360 even though all my friends had a 360. its was game selection free wifi, free online blu-ray etc. i would rather have a good free online service than a great service that u have to pay for. but the only downside for me not having a 360 is that i dont get to play with my friends.

All of your friends were strangers at some point in time. By no means is it impossible or overly difficult to make new friends. If you play a game enough you'll run across someone who was fun to play with and you'll probably want to play with them more.

Sure, but that's still much different than playing with or against people you see every day in real life or have a long history with. It's a bout bonding and rubbing it in when you smoked your best friend/s.

Word of advice, buy what you want, who cares what friends have. If they are too cheap to afford both, oh well.

Well i got myself the PS3 while all my other friends got a 360...and I'm kind of regretting it right now? The ps3 is a far better console IMO but i rather play with my friends online then random people. That is why i am contemplating on getting a 360 or not...

This, if you are more interested for the PS3, just go for it then get a 360.
