More layoffs at Sony coming next week

There is anxiety in Culver City today as word gets around on the Sony lot that significant layoffs are coming as soon as Monday. “You wouldn’t be wrong to describe it as a high state of panic over here,” said one.

This time affecting its Hollywood arm in movies & entertainment. Sony continues to lose money after a string of flop films that included After Earth and White House Down. Dire times indeed for Sony, if this keeps up Sony can't survive on the PS4 alone.

Why doesn't sony just shut down every iteration of their business besides insurance and the game sector? it would be far easier than trying to float the rest of their company with just those two.
