not worth my time and effort for the 10 minute install time if the load times are only decreased 30% they are short enough already. Definately not worth 10 minutes, nor the amount of hard drive space that it would require, definately because I dont have much. I would have to delete every game that was installed to my harddrive everytime I wanted to play a different one. Its just not very useful.diped
you don't get that. 360 install unlike ps3 install, it install the whole dvd, which takes 10minutes. and support all old 360 games. that means when playing , the dvd driver don't work at all after install.
dont really care, the only game where this might be worth the time is LO, and even on that its still an iffy maybeDante2710
Bingo.

So that means you can put what 2-3 games on a 20gb 360? Also if you can install full games why would anyone buy the games for 360 anymore if all they have to do is use Gamefly or Blockbuster?

wow I know fanboys are slow, but geez. You need the disk to still play the game. To show proof of purchase obviously. MS is not stupid. they are not going to let you just burn a copy of the game without actually owning the disk. The 360 still reads the disk, but it doesn't spin because all the info is on the hard drive. To show proof of purchase obviously. Why do I have a bad feeling already about people making key discs that fake a games image on a DVD, obviously depending on how this "Anti piracy" software works, if it's only checking for a few authentication files pirates will have a field day with this.

you still need to have the disk in the system as a protection against piracy. :|
60gb and 120gb is a lot of space. Plenty of room for a few games that will be played a lot, like Mass Effect and Halo 3. It's totally optional for those who have the space, and the games are still very playable and enjoyable for those who don't install them.

Yea I was thinking about this as well I wonder how this is gonna end up...
horrible idea and honstly, why bother since u still need the disk in the tray? waste of memory if u as me.FreshDimSumno more DRE, improves loading, no more noise from disk drive, and no more pop in textures.

all a plus but with roughly 5-8 gig goin onto ur HDD along with all your saves and DLC, i still dont think its gonna work, especially how lazy ppl re with micromanagement. (for even i am too lazy to delete old movie and saves i never watch/load again.) and yea, pirates WILL have loads of fun with this. overall, i still think its a bad idea.
I really don't understand why people don't like installs, you have 24hrs in a day you can install and play later.bobaban
Because we would rather be able to play our games the minute we pop them in. Especially when we take the game to a friend's house (or they bring one to ours).
Sounds great, would be even more great if you could just install and play them without the dvd,i understand why they probs don't want to do that because of piracy but it would be nice to just play 360 games like you would for arcade games, quick and easy.
Guess the 120gb HDD actually comes into use when the fall update arrives...

Half life 2.
Still, its not for everybody, i won't be installing because i don't have the space...
