i was offered for 3$ you can get 12month insurance on games just incase you get "laser burning" on the disc

actually it covers most every thing in regards to stuff that can happen to a disc not just laser burning, or scratching by 360s, or it getting stuck and having to rip it out of the wii and ps3.
With some of the conditions I've seen games in, certain people should be jumping on the offer. I, however, don't get the insurance. If I'm paying on average 30+ for a game you bet your hide that I take care of it. On the other side of it though, I haven't had any freak accidents with discs yet.
They make you pay $3, which is an offense punishable by forum whining around these parts. What's bad about that?

in other GS news. i went there to get the latest sims 3 expansion for my wife and it turns out the only "new" copy the had was an opened copy that they wanted to sell to me for the full price. i made them give it to me for the used price listing....damn con artists...
damn right. my games STAY in their respective cases when theyre not in use cause 60+ bucks is a lot of money to just let the software i bought go all to hell by me mishandling...With some of the conditions I've seen games in, certain people should be jumping on the offer. What you can do to exploit this if you are a game collector is buy the warranty play the game for a couple months bring it back and get another sealed copy of the game (hoping they have a sealed copy and they don't remove it while giving it to you) and then selling it 30 years down the road for a ton of money.

If you wish to complain about a "new" copy being opened, then give the stores either money for blank cases for cover art, or the blank cases themselves. how else are they going to have the game displayed?

$3 for 12 months? Where is the rip off there? unless $3 per month.

$3 multiplied by x million is a lot of money.
$60 multiplied by x hundreds of thousands is a lot of money. You do realize that Gamestop's return policy on used games allows you to get a full refund back on a game because you didn't LIKE it? Effectively you have the ability to play any game you don't like for a net cost of zero and they have to honor it. Their warranty against the rings also isn't that unforgiving given it's a mere 5% of the total cost and allows you to recoup 100% of the cost of the investment. It's merely a warranty, no one's asking you to buy it, it's simply there if you want it. I'm not saying I agree with Gamestop, I say kill it with fire, but dear lord, the things you guys come up with to bash this company are ridiculous. How about you get upset about the multiple hundred percent markups on used games, the fact that the developers get none of that back, the fact that they always try to sell you **** and their stupid magazine subscription? Complain about those, at least you'd seem genuine. That's actually not a bad deal. Why would people complain about this, it's totally optional.
Haters gonna hate.

i dont care how they display or what they have to do to get what. but once that seal is cracked ITS USED. the same policy applies for returns so dont think for one instant that im buying that load of bull. if they want to charge me full price for an opened package the let me return my used game for full price. Sometimes those used games are the game that they check out for themselves.....since theyre entitled to take home a copy of the game for a certain period of time. im not paying full price for that crap so dont try to feed it to me...[QUOTE="slvrraven9"]

another thing if you wanna get on the subject of gamespot needing money then why dont you talk about those stupid managers conventions where they just GIVE AWAY free games to the managers of the store to do whatever with. you tellin me they can afford to give away a free game to every manager of every gamestop but they cant afford a display case for one of every new game? BS....dude.Please Log In to post.
