More to Come After Uncharted 3, Developer Thinks So

There very well could be more to the Uncharted franchise after Uncharted 3 releases later this year. Evan Wells of Naughty Dog said in a recent interview that the franchise wasn't "concieved as a trilogy". Since "Every single episode is a standalone adventure", the developer stated that they could continue to franchise in after Drake's Deception. "We feel like we can keep putting him in these scenarios that are self-contained that anyone can pick up and play, but if you have played and know the characters and storylines it can be an even more rewarding experience."

" I don't see why we wouldn't keep going and making more of those adventures as long as we've got the ideas." said Wells in a recent interview. And ideas aren't a commodity that Naughty Dog seems to be coming up short on. Both Uncharted games have had exceptional plotlines, with an incredible balance of storytelling, spetacular gameplay, and jaw dropping graphics. Everything we've seen thus far from Uncharted 3 looks like the developers have their sights set on topping what is widely regarded as the best action adventure game of the generation in Uncharted 2.

I find Uncharted to be terribly overrated, so I hope this isn't true.

Meh, as much as I enjoy Uncharted, I would never hope that ND continues to exclusively develop and franchise that IP. If they wanted to sell off the IP to Sony or somebody and do what Bungie did with Halo, more power to them. But ND has so much skill and creative intuition that I hope they do pursue developing other IPs at some point in the near future.

I love Uncharted, and hope the series lives on until 5, but only 5. Anything above that is just overkill.

I'll be happy if they keep making Uncharted.. But not for PS4 maybe.. I am going to get a WiiU first. T__T

I want them to continue. Uncharted is my favorite games from Naughty Dog (I've played all the Jak games). Nathan Drake as a character is pretty good and very identifiable with and I'm a big fan of Indiana Jones (except the Crystal Skulls, I shunned that from my memory.) As long as Nathan Drake doesn't fight aliens on some distant ruin, I'm perfectly happy with Uncharted.

1. Sony already owns the uncharted IP, and has someone else already making a game (Vita Uncharted)

2. Sony owns ND fully. They can't pull a Bungie and leave.

naw i have a feeling they will do something with jack and D eventually...maybe after uncharted 3 well see :)
