Mortal Kombat Still The Best VideoGame Movie? Is Mario The Worst Movie?

Back in 1995, Mortal Kombat The movie was released and was well recieved by fans and critics. Since then, Movies base on games were horrible. But now here comes Max Payne andI'm really noticing alot of marketing for Max Payne. i mean Ludacris and Mark Whalberg was on Mike and Mike in the morning and BET.

Too bad Max Payne looks way off, something was apparantly lost in "translation" or something between game and movie, it doesn't feel the same at all..

Mortal Kombat is a pile of crap that just stinks less than other piles.

It's one of the best video game adaptations, but that's not really saying much.

Resident Evil movie adaptation says "hi" with swift kick to the balls..or axe wound if your a girl. :D

Edit: Street Fighter was the worst, probably one of the worst movies I've ever seen in english. A GOD **** frenchman playing an American soldier, and he still had that awful accent. And that old skinny, big-eyed freak that they had playing M. Bison. The only character that they got close to being right was the dude that played Zangief. Everything else was just off. I still found it fun to watch given my age at the time.

Mortal Kombat is definetely the best, but that isnt saying much. Its not that great either.

The worst has to be one of the Uwe Bole movies. Probably Blood Rayne or something.

I don't know who the **** in Nintendo let that movie get out, that was an abortion!

The best videogame movie I would say is Advent Children and/or Spirits Within.

I personally think Resident Evil is the best game movie. I haven't seen Silent Hill.

RE movie was decent. They tried to add their own twist to it and I was ok with that. Then they start forcing characters into the time-line to get the fans in and messing the whole story up. When I saw what they did with Wesker I almost cried :( (Not really but I was annoyed)

I'll go with this. It's the one I enjoyed the most.

As for the rest. The first Tomb Raider one was not bad, the plot sucked but they got the Lara character right. The SH one was ok though I think it's a bit overhyped. MK was a fair rendition as well specially the characters and tournament part.

That was bad but had nothing to do with the game. I still do not get that at all, yah Spirits was crap but as a technical ff movie, i was not to happy with advent.

As a huge lover of awfully bad movies here are my top 3 best video game movies and top 3 worst video game movies. These have to be live action movies, animated ones do not count.

Top 3 Best:

1. Mortal Kombat
2. Lara Croft: Tomb Raider
3. Resident Evil

Top 3 Worst:

1. Street Fighter
2. Super Mario Brothers
3. Alone in the Dark

There are many more that can be added to worst movies, but those ones I listed are just god awful.

The Resident Evil movies are the best video game movies. but i like the orginal mortal kombat movie, the seocnd mortal kombat was retarted. I think that the worst video game movie is Street Fighter. O god that movie is terrible. They had Arnold Swanngner play as M.Bison. What a a horrible movie. The Super mario Brothers Movie was horrible too. Another bad movie, it wasn't on a game, but it clearly was based on them, The Wizard. O god the wizard was horrible too.

FF:TSW is an amazing movie. Sure, its completely different from the Final Fantasy series, but as a movie, its absolutely terrific. It actually shouldnt even count because its not based a specific video game. Seriously, why do people think this is a bad movie?

Oh I agree with you on it being a good movie, it just lacked pretty much anything Final Fantasy in the movie besides the name Cid and a chocobo on a t-shirt. That is what makes it a bad video game movie, has absolutely nothing to do with the series.

So, a movie-game will never be as deep and fleshed out as a game will be, its 2 hours versus 30 hours. It did a good job on introducing the main plot points in the RE universe for a movie. Everything about it was better than those other movies: Characters, Dialogue, Plot ESPECIALLY. Don't get me started on the computer generated elements.
