i was just getting to that it would have 2 be SEPHIROTH on Kingdom Hearts 2!Playing against RAAM in gears of war on insane difficulty. That was just ridiculous; you would have to get dozens of headshots with the snipe while avoiding reavers, kryll, and RAAM's enormous machine gun all whilst maneuving on the narrow top of a train. I enjoyed the fight in normal difficulty though. I love boss battles btw and think they should stay.Slaveways
i was thinking the same. took me forever to beat that SOB on insane.
the star destroyer in the force unleashed was just retarded,. thought that would be the coolest part of the game and ended up being the lamest

I remember having a lot of trouble with that plant monster in Metroid Prime...you know, the one poisoning the water? Also, Gil...the boss in Street Fighter III Third Strike.

Actually I've been gaming longer than most people that post here. Boss Fights for the most part, are pretty much unchanged from the time that they where created to be used as a level transition. It's still for the most part:1: Lock player one in to small room
2:Introduce large enemy with increased health, damage and damage resistanceÂ
3.Use lame weak point as boss weakness
4. Wash rinse repeat. Make final boss larger and more cheap than the rest.Â
I'm really tired of it. Most boss battles depend on cheap AI more than anything else and to me cheap AI isn't fun.
There are exceptions to the rule but goddamn they are few and far in between. I would rather see better level design and character interaction than just a run of the mill end level boss.Â

None in particular..It's just the concept that bugs me. It's very predicitible so ultimately, it just becomes disappointing.. Overall, I'm pretty good at playing through games, I just don't think that many boss battles are any fun.As for boss battles I liked, I rather enjoyed the boss fights in Ninja Gaiden. Although they could be frustrating, I never felt like my character was being gimped to make the fight harder... The boss battles In MGS 4 were pretty good also..There are a lot of old school stuff that was cool like Gunstar heroes and Contra....
When done right I don't have a problem with them I guess, but I wish developers would look for newer ways to move along the story in their games.
[QUOTE="Floppy_Jim"]General Raam on Insane. I had to resort to using the glitch.Al3x_n90
Come on RAAM wasn't that hard to beat, even on insane...try Agnus on the highest difficult, that's suicideÂ
I actually thought he wasn't that hard..
:?
Ruby Weapon. I never actually beat it. Maybe on my next playthrough.
Biolizard from Sonic Adventure 2, though that was partially due to the sloppy controls in that game. Actually, there were a lot of really annoying boss fights in that game.

If any SoTC fans saw this they would murder you. The game is just a collection of Boss battles, seperated by travelling, and a small amount of platforming. Great game. Seriously though, boss battles are great. They add variety, and can really add to a set piece if you're getting tired of fighting through the same enemies over and over again. Alot of Boss battles are just too cheap though. In alot of RPG's you get bosses in games like FF12 where the guys take hours to take down, and can kill you very quickly. That's just not fun. Stress does not equate to fun, espically after hours of grinding. Bosses which are actually quite unique and offer a real change of pace to the gameplay can be pretty fun though. I can't imagine MGS without boss fights, it would feel so pointless. Action/Adventure titles rely heavily on boos battles as well, so to remove that would kill the game. They don't belong in most shooters though, unless they can make them fun, like GeoW almost did (Cool set pieces, but frustrating or too easy, and just killed the pace.).
As for the hardest bosses I've actually played through, I would say RAAM from GeoW was pretty bad. Intense for about 5 minutes, then you realise it's just tedious running from one side to the other and trying to pull off head shots as quickly as possible, with the risk of dying at any moment.
I'm sure there's alot more, but that's all I can remember from this generation.
WTF does this have ANYTHING to do with System Wars? pimperjoneslol there are TONZ of game systems thats what it has 2 do with system wars i doubt one system has every game made??? LOL
[QUOTE="Locke562"]i agree hes defintley up there. raam was easy for me on insane i guess its because i figured out a fool proof strategy to beat him quickly and easily. and lastly the star destroyer scene in tfu was just stupid and a waste of time and disk space, it was supposed to be the best part but it sucked.[QUOTE="khaosmario"] i said WHAT BOSS!! i dont wanna know the map ROFL!khaosmario

LOL that game was amazing, I remember doing those crazy jumps and running into people and doing my thing, then bam yeti eat you!
Anyways, I'd have to say that red devil satin guy in ghost and goblins for NES or Mike Tyson in punchout. That guy was a beast.
